This guitar is a gift from the gods. Its overall quality is unique and attractive as its price. The sound and tone is truely outstanding and extremely versatile. The features of the Highway one is truly traditional and simplistic, which makes it even more sought after. After I received this Strat, it wasn't that great. Problems included faulty intonation, mile-high action and the p-ups were too far into the body (for my liking). That is the reason it dosen't get a 5. After it was professionally set up, it was incredible! I know some people complained about the meaty neck, but I love it. Anyway, this guitar is a blues machine!! Sounds amazing through my Marshall AVT 50. I got the 3-Tone Sunburst w/Maple Fretboard and it looks like a late 60's Strat. Love the big headstock and frets. Little piece of advice, save up the extra $$$ and buy this over a MIM Strat. You will not be disappointed.

Just bought this HW1 strat in the honey blonde with maple fret board. The guitar feels and plays very nice and better than the AmSt in my opinion. The first thing I did was disassemble it and re-paint the body. The honey blonde looks nothing like the online photo(yuk)but now it's metalic gold like an older Fender Jazz Bass and looks sweet. I have had an AmSt and did not like the action or the feel but the HW1 is for me.

This is a fantastic guitar for the money. Of course an american series would be better because of the updated quality but for how cheap this is for an AMERICAN MADE product is absolutely amazing. I have the light blue model with a maple neck and I have gotten new guitars and always come back to this one. Through my Fender Blues reissue it absolutely sings! It has a reverse polarity so in the 1,3, and 5 positions it gives a bit of hum through a higher gain amp but through my tube driven Fender i have never noticed much buzz. The pickups sound fine stock and the maple neck plays great for those who like a strat neck. The only problem i had was the action came REALLY high but it was a mail order and a quick run to the local guitar shop fixed all that and now it plays comfortably and smooth.

Bottom Line: if your looking for an american made product that has great blues and rock capabilities without spending over a G this is the guitar for you.
