This amp has a great clean channel sound and is very loud with it being 100 watts. The overdrive channels aren't very good when compared to my DS-1 and MD-2 boss distortions. If you plan on using this amp for playing rock or metal like I do i STRONGLY recommend using distortion pedals. The reverb is a nice touch i dont use it that much, it stays set at 1 out of 10 on my settings. The only thing i would add to this amp is a fan, it gets pretty hot when playing hi-gain stuff for an extended amount of time and i once had it shut off automaticly beacuse it got too hot. it only happened once and i fired it up the next day and sounded new outta the box. this was my first amp and i may never need to get another one. GREAT BUY!!

I like it! It's easy to work. Reverb is fine. Pleanty of power. It's LOUD. The only thing I don't like: Not alot of Bottom end. I have to put the TREBLE on OFF, and the BASS on 10...It Bearly make it to sound in the ball park. I hate that! No where to go from there. You probally could make it with an Additional EQ... But? OVERALL... It's good and reliable...Especially for the money. I play Clubs, the open back lets it fill the room well. Looks great. Tone is good. Clean good sounding, don't use it. It's fine. Go check it out. For the Money, you can't go wrong. It's a Professional amp.

I was looking for a new amp to play in my band...I tried many different combos from raven to marshall but didnt find what I was looking for...until I found this one..i bought it and brought it home and plugged it in and the sound blew me away..the tone is great and is really loud!...i turned it up to 3 and it blew me slam out of my chair..it sounds amazing with a good distortion pedal(ie boss ds 1)..i havent played live with it yet but will with no problem..i also like the included footswitch..i really recommend this amp!!

Amazing amp if you know how to use it.

The Frontman 212R is a great all around amp. It's Reverb unit is a tad weaker than others, but too much reverb just sounds bad, so this amp is perfect for reverb. And turn treble and mid to 7 and bass to 4 for metal tones, but if you want metal buy a Line 6. This thing is built for blues and classic rock. I have not Used it Live but the footswitch has no lag so It would work great. Oh and dont turn it past one or two for practice if you like your ear drums. THIS THING IS LOUD.

Okay I have not used any pedals with this amp, but if you are crazy about effects then start hooking them up now. This is a loud , wonderfull sounding amp, but it lacks in the effects department. I dont mind though , cuz I hardly ever use effects.

Play it first to see if it is for you. But I highly recomend it.

This is the first good amp I've ever owned. My first amp was a first act, and I've also played through Marshall half stacks. To be quite honest... This amp is very good. Like everybody else says, the clean channel shines! All the effects such as wah that I've run through it come out as clear as day! It's amazing how clear effects come out through it. My only problem with this amp is trying to get light distortion sounds out of it... It has nice heavy and hard hitting drive on it when cranked up to 7 and above, but I find it somewhat lacking in tone when you go lower on the drive. But since it has such a great clean, I can probably get what I need with a pedal or two :). Also, because everything come through so clear, you might want to make sure you have good pickups. This amp hides nothing, and if you have crappy pickups, they'll be shown for what they are! Finally, I've noticed through playing in church, this amp's tones blend in BEAUTIFULLY with the rest of the band. But when playing with a harder sounding band, it can get lost in the mix if you're not careful.
