This amp is made for practice, or maybe a small gig. I wish you could adjust the amount of reverb but if you have effects petals your gonna love it. i have emgs, 81/85 with the 85 in the bridge. the distortion is awesome with anything from Zeppelin to dir en grey. also, the amp presets are iffy. i like the metal. the acoustic simulator breaks up. the black face, tweed, and hot-rod settings sound like they can use a bit more treble. It has some amp noise and it also cuts the volume around 2. Its a great amp and it suits my playing styles. I should got the Frontman 25R, but i didnt want to wait. i may end up buyin a Celestion 30W speaker when this one blows! Ebony Epiphone SG Special: Customized with 2-volumes, Zakk Wylde EMGs 81/85 with a Pro-Co Rat 2 distortion petal and Dimarrzio cables.

Great Solo Guitar Amp

Plenty of people have mentioned how great the amp is as a practice amp and I completely agree. However, I play chord melody solo guitar and this amp is perfect for it. I put it on the jazz setting with a little reverb (built in effect) and tweek the guitar and amp a little and I get beautiful tone that sounds good recorded and works when I'm playing in front of a small group of people (coffee shop, house party, etc).

I bought this amp years ago when I was first learning how to play and its been a faithful partner. I definitly recommend this amp!

Why are all these haters complaining that this amp isn't loud enough and the effects suck. What do you expect from an amp for this price! This is obviously a practice amp and a good one at that. This amp is ideal for the bedroom and the features are a great intro to the world of digital effects. Would I try to power my guitar through this amp with a full band behind me? No! Would I rely on these effects to record or play live? Heck no! Would I use this amp to practice my licks in my bedroom? Absolutely. I even plug my acoustic into this thing and it sounds fantastic--perfect for a coffee shop gig. People, use this amp for the right application and you won't be disappointed.

Ive had this amp for a few years, and I bought it on pretty much an impulse buy. I just really wanted effects. The things is, the effects on this thing are TERRIBLE. You cant even control the amount. Also, it is terribly quiet. The amp i had before it, a Fender 15G was much louder, even though it had not even two-thirds of the wattage. The one good quality about it is that it seems to hold up reasonably. All in all, I would suggest something from the Vox Valvetronix line (ignore the looks :P)
