Suitable for a prectice amp

I picked this bad boy up at my local shop for just over what GC was asking. after getting home i happily tore into the box like a kid on christmas. i got it because the only amp i had was my half-stack, and i wanted to practice without rattling the windows. i was satisfied. it has good sound quality, which was more important than volume for me. the effects are fun to play with but i don't think i would ever realy use them other than for fun because you can't control effects levels. as far as construction goes, this thing is pretty tough. the grille is a good strong weave, and everything else seems really solid. the amp models are pretty weak and they could probably have done away with a couple but there will be one that you will like. the metal setting is great and the british setting is my blues setting. if you are looking for a simple practice amp to just plug and play i don't think you can go wrong with this model. as far as taking it to a show, i would be hesitant because the effects aren't very flexible. but in the home it is pleasing to the ear, much more so than alot of other small combos i've tried and i do not regret my decision at all. i'm playing a Jackson Dinky HSS plugged straight in.

Turn down that BUZZ!!!

I just purchased this amp at the local GC.
It has some cool sounds with the different amp models, and the effects are fun too. It is capable of getting LOUD enough to practice with a drummer (easily). However there seems to be some serious quality-control issues.
The brand-new, in-the-box model that i ended up bringing home BUZZES badly. I will be returning this amp, and I'm not sure if I will be exchanging it for the same thing...

This amp is made for practice, or maybe a small gig. I wish you could adjust the amount of reverb but if you have effects petals your gonna love it. i have emgs, 81/85 with the 85 in the bridge. the distortion is awesome with anything from Zeppelin to dir en grey. also, the amp presets are iffy. i like the metal. the acoustic simulator breaks up. the black face, tweed, and hot-rod settings sound like they can use a bit more treble. It has some amp noise and it also cuts the volume around 2. Its a great amp and it suits my playing styles. I should got the Frontman 25R, but i didnt want to wait. i may end up buyin a Celestion 30W speaker when this one blows!
Ebony Epiphone SG Special: Customized with 2-volumes, Zakk Wylde EMGs 81/85 with a Pro-Co Rat 2 distortion petal and Dimarrzio cables.

Great Solo Guitar Amp

Plenty of people have mentioned how great the amp is as a practice amp and I completely agree. However, I play chord melody solo guitar and this amp is perfect for it. I put it on the jazz setting with a little reverb (built in effect) and tweek the guitar and amp a little and I get beautiful tone that sounds good recorded and works when I'm playing in front of a small group of people (coffee shop, house party, etc). I bought this amp years ago when I was first learning how to play and its been a faithful partner. I definitly recommend this amp!
