What can I say about this amp! Its been great to me! I bought mine from a friend who I used to play with and i always loved the sound he got out of it. My amp is about 3 years old, and I have Never had a problem with it, and let me tell you, its loud!! volume isn't everything though, the clean channel is just great! The spring reverb could be better, but I actually like the sound of it. The overdrive/distortion is good for maybe some grunge, or classic rock music, but its not great for metal. If you want to play metal, just buy a boss metal zone(works Great though this amp). I suggest this amp to anyone. You can e-mail me if you have any questions about this amp, i will answer everyone i get!

100 Watts of Power in a small package

I've been a guitarist for 28 years. I play Metal. I was looking for a gigging amp and had several interesting choices including Marshall and Peavey, but I wanted a combo amp at 50 to 100 watts and wasn't willing to over spend to get it. I plugged into a Fender FM212R and with a BC Rich and a Boss DS-1 Distortion peddle (no amp is going to give you enough crunch to not need a peddle) and it totally rocked. Bought it on the spot. Haven't done the first gig with it but I'm looking forward to it. Finishing my album with it.

Great For Classic Rock, Fantastic Clean Channel

I was originally looking at a Peavy Valve King and soon realized it had the quality of a crappy solid-state. I was recommended to try out Fender and I found this. This amp has a clean tone to die for, it is bright and poppy, great for funk, or it can be flattened for a fatter blues tone.

The overdrive isn't seriously high-gain but it is great for things like GnR, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin early 'Talica or grunge. It can also be easily shaped for blues. Don't expect any death metal or shred distortion.

A great feature is the mid contour button, it makes you sound like metalica a push of the button by scooping the mid and boosting treble. The only built in effects is the spring reverb that, is so-so, which means it looses marks on features. If you want effects at the same price look at the Marshall MG. But the effects loop means you can add you own effects easily.

Overall this amp is amazing for its price, so versatile and simple to shape tones.

Oh yeah, this thing is LOUD for 100 watts.

I have owned this amp for about a year and a half. When I first got it, I was playing a Jackson DKMGT Dinky though it. I've changed quite a bit throughout the time I've owned this amp. At first, I was playing a Jackson with HZ3 pickups. The sound was vastly improved from my previous setups considering I'd jumped up from about 15w and 5'' speakers to 100w and 12'' speakers. I knew buying the amp that I'd have to use a distortion pedal to get a decent distortion out of it. It was also plenty loud enough to cut though a band. I play lead guitar and I'm heard just fine on about 3-5. I've never had to crank it higher than that.

Eventually, I saved up enough money for a Gibson and around the same time, upgraded the pickups in my Jackson. Playing them both through this amp showed a great difference. Being a bit broke after buying my Gibson, I decided the best route would be to get new speakers for the amp. I dropped a pair of Eminence Texas Heat's into my amp and it really came alive! I really like the distortion I can get out of this amp now! I now also own a Peavey Valve King half stack. Great amp and very loud, but my Fender still gets plenty of play.

A great small investment as long as you know what to expect, or are willing to upgrade.

I suggest changing the speakers asap.
