The David Gilmour Signature Series Stratocaster Guitar from the Fender Custom Shop has an alder body, black or black over three-color sunburst finish, a black pickguard, a one-piece straight-grain maple neck, custom pickups, and Gilmour's now-famous electronics and shortened vintage tremolo arm.

A cornerstone of Pink Floyd's incomparably revolutionary sound, Gilmour's Black Strat is featured extensively on The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and his critically acclaimed 2006 solo effort, On An Island. The Fender Custom Shop worked hand-in-hand with Gilmour and his longtime guitar technician, Phil Taylor, to create this signature model instrument, a detailed reproduction of the Black Strat—complete in its unmistakable look, sound, and feel.

The David Gilmour Signature Strat comes with a custom Fender guitar case, an Evidence high-end guitar cable, Gilmour's three-disc Live in Gdansk CD/DVD set, and Phil Taylor's 2007 book about the guitar's history, The Black Strat. The first 500 guitars sold in either finish option will include a limited edition, signed copy of The Black Strat book, autographed by Phil Taylor.

WOW! Is a good word to describe this babe. I've been playing for 10 years now... and I have NEVER seen anything like this guitar. The pick-ups are a dream. Also when I whamme with it I never feel better! All in all if your a pro and you need an ax... get this one baby!!!

I have a water damage issue, to the case, that is currently working. I can not tell you how pleased that I am with Fender!! These guys are really responsive, and are doing everything that they possibily can. Again, they are VERY responsive, and THAT, means a lot when you are considering an investment like this.

I have been waiting years for this guitar to be released and its finally here. Not only does this guitar look amazing but it plays like heaven. The neck is fast and smooth and the pickups will give you any pink floyd tone and more, I've only scratched the surface of the possibilities of the beauty. The case it comes with is also top notch having a custom stitched logo along with nearly two feet of storage space. The finish is also amazing, I myself got the NOS and could not be any happier. Sorry if this review is kind of brief and random but I honestly could not list all the great things abut this strat. Bottom line if you love pink floyd, music, and quality their is no better guitar.

Suffice to say, this guitar rocks. The sound capabilities are incredible. I have used the EMG DG-20 before, this actually will replicate his sound to the tee! I can not praise this thing enough.

That being said, unless you desire to actually collect it because it is an exact replica of Gilmour's, buy the NOS version. In hindsight, and if I could do it all over agin, I would have went that route, and I AM someone who thinks David is of devine nature.

Whether you are an advid Gilmour, or advid Strat lover, this is your guitar!
