I ordered this guitar at Long & Mcquade in candy apple red. I was a bit worried about if the guitar would have a crappy neck, or if there would be poor workmanship. The guitar came in and I was the first to look at it. I am amazed at how nice this guitar looks. Not a single imperfection anywhere!! Even the piece of wood they used for the neck is just gorgeous! I would say this is right up there with the American series guitars. I was a little unhappy with the tone of the neck pickup right from the start, so I finally got fed up and saved the money up for some Texas Specials. Get these pickups! They are so awesome! The neck pickup is way better than the stock pickups as well as the bridge pickup. It has to be heard to believe how sweet they really are!! Especially the two pickups combined!! Some say it's way overpriced, but I disagree completely. My only beef with this guitar is that it didn't come with a hard case. I can't understand why such a nice guitar wouldn't be complimented with one. Not a big deal as hard cases are readily available. Who knows, maybe there really is crappy 60's teles out there, but I think Fender is really stepping it up lately. Check one out!

Player for 10 years. Owned this tele nearly 4 years. Been my main player entire time; surviving many falls, and many tours. Solid guitar but most guitars made today are. It's a basic Mexican tele with a mint pick guard, old cast tuners, and bridge. Action and fit are good. Neck is better than usual MIM necks. That said, it is WAY overpriced. Not worth it's price. Could be with a few mods that can make this a great guitar: brass compensated saddles, Fender Nocaster pickups, and a 4-way selector switch.

I got sick of my really basic squier bullet. The chinese made squier strat... Completely arse end, but solid as a tank. Couple of weeks before my 16th, as ya do, I was looking at a few guitars, and had my heart set on a highway one strat (don't get one!), or a standard strat. Standards were too far out of the range. So here I am in the shop, with this mex tele, and les paul double cutaway (dual p-90s, uncomfortable as a fork up your rear end). The standard strats and "decent" guitars were out of the range; no way did i want a short-scale gibson thing that's like playing a fence, and the tele ate it alive anyway.

Bought the tele - lived happily ever after.

If you play your cards right with the neck pickup, you can get some really lovely tones for anything out of it. also, the bridge pickup sounds grunty as, if you piss round with the amp and pedals. For the softer stuff, you can have a really excellent tone with both pickups in conjunction.

DON'T FEAR THE MEXICANS!

I wouldn't spend the money for the 62 tele so i got this. I like the 60's style necks with the more curved fretboard radius, and I like how simple the telecaster is. This is a good solid guitar no problems with anything, though there is sometimes a bit of string buzz from the old ashtray bridge. I have a mustang, Jag-stang, and a standerd strat and I've been playing this thing more. Best made in mexico guitar I've played. Go get yourself one, or order one.

I just got this guitar yasterday. Wow. Th ecolour I bought was olympic white, and the finish blew me away. This is a beautiful looking guitar. The only other Tele I have played was a standard Tele, and I hated it. It was WAY too bright and I couldn't get any usable sound out of it. At least not for my style of playing. I was browsing guitars and came across this one. The Fender 60s Telecaster. It came to me. I developed the craving for a tele sound, but not the standard sound. When I plugged this into my amp (Mesa F50), it shimmered. It's a bright sound, but not too bright. I think the rosewood darkens the tone a bit, and the tone knob helps take the edge off. The neck plays beautifully. This guitar was made for clean tones or mild overdrive. It lacks bottom end, withc is ok. It is not "Beefy" and "Ballsy" and doesn't have that "meat" that my Gibson SG has. Of course, I didn't expect it to. All in all, this guitar was worth every penny. It sounds good, plays good, and it's just what I was looking for.
