What is weighs, what you pay

This model, depending on specimen, is arguably the best guitar Fender Ensenada is making. Excellent big fat neck, serious pro quality pickups (plastic leads). Be on the lookout for real wobbly S-1 switches and super heavyweight examples (some, not that many). Pay attention to what you are paying. This model is in short supply because of the roll out of the Road Worn model - don't pay an AV52 price for this guitar - that's not necessary. Model sounds superb thru Fender USA tube amps such as Super RI, TRRI, Custom Vibrolux Reverb-Amp and Reissue Bassman. But play a few; get a sweet one.

GREAT LITTLE AXE

I have had this model for about 6 months and I'm very impessed with it. It intonates and stays in tune very well. The S-1 switching system along with the stock pickups can cover alot of sonic territory. Once you play this guitar you won't want to put it down.

Best Tele out there

If you're reading this you're wasting time that you could be playing the greatest Tele to come out of Fenders stable. Everything about this axe screams quality and tone bliss. The Broadcaster bridge pickup has all of the Tele twang you want, a much fuller sound than you're accustomed to and none of the harshness you expect. The Twisted Tele neck pickup is the dogs bollocks. This thing can scream the blues- or whisper them sweetly in your ear. The four way switching provides all of the sounds you need: twang, slick tele spank, howlin' blues and full on rock. The S1 adds a couple of nice extra sounds, ala Dick Dale and Mark Knopfler, that are nice while doing nothing to take away from the classiness and simplicity that is a Tele. The neck plays like a dream. If you're afraid that it may be too big or akward-try it first. You'll be surprised and wondering why they all don't come like this. Lastly, the beauty. The blonde model is a work of art that epitomizes the classic style and nostalgia of the 50's Telecasters. Side by side with an American Standard natural ash and an American 52 RI butterscotch blonde, this is the pageant queen. They could take the "made in Mexico" off and sell this thing for a Custom Shop price. However, unlike most overpriced Fenders and Gibsons, the Baja Tele is worth every penny. Plug it into a Fender Super Champ XD or Blues Jr. and you can play any style and any song you want. Don't be afraid of overdrive either-they can handle it. Just do it.

Traditional Looks--Real Versatility

I have five other Telecasters and like them all. This Telecaster, however, really verges on greatness. The S-1 switching system gives it the depth of a hummbucker, tone of a strat, and the sound of a tele all in one instrument. The fit and finish (vintage blonde) are flawless. It came with a good, workable set up. For the money, this is perhaps the best Telecaster model in Fenders stable right now. I play through a Fender Blues Jr. and a Fender Blues Deluxe and I'm very happy with the results. Country, blues, rock--it can do it all. Traditional looks with real versatility.

Tone, Tone, and oh yeah... Tone

If I had to describe this guitar in one word it would be versatile. This guitar has so many tonal variations it's really on the borderline of overwhelming. When I received this tele (in blonde) it was set up pretty good. The usual players taste adjustments and this thing plays like a dream. Ash body with nice wood grain, hardware was top notch, tuners were lined up perfect and move smoothly, frets were dressed properly, nut was cut correctly and the neck pocket was tight. I have played other Bajas that were all jacked up in one way or another but this one is perfect. The one thing that may take a while to do is the intonation but that's a 3-barrel bridge for you. This Broadcaster pickup in the bridge is outstanding. Great bite and sustain without being shrill and useless. The twisted teIe neck pup is also great. Unlike a 52RI neck pup it isn't overly dark and unuseable IMO. I play into a tweed NOS blues jr. with a Keeley SD-1 pedal and I can get Zeppelin to Haggard with all the positions available. The S-1 switch is also a beautiful thing hidden away in the volume knob. It really lets you experiment with a wide variety of sounds. I love my strats (CP50, CP60) but this is a totally and sonically different guitar. I highly suggest you try this out if you are looking for a tele with classic and modern features.
