The Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special is an electric guitar that updates Fender's iconic Jaguar guitar with some thoroughly modern improvements: hotter pickups, a redesigned Adjusto-Matic bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece, a 9-1/2" fingerboard radius and a redesigned neck pocket with increased back-angle for improved stability and sustain. The Jaguar guitar's tremolo plate has been moved closer to the bridge to increase break angle and sustain. The Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special guitar has a screw-in tremolo arm that increases stability and control when executing dive-bombs.

This will fill the bill as well as the USA Jags and is cheaper. A nicer neck equipped with medium jumbo frets, finish and hardware are great, pickups can purr or twang. Nice feeling, nice looking and great playing guitar for the money. No rattles, no fret outs, although I lock out the trem and us it as a hardtail. One of my fav guitars, recommend it if you want the vintage sound.

I was at a local music store looking for a new guitar in this price range and it was down to a Fender Tele, or a Strat, then the dude who was showing me around told me to look at this one, I was soon sold on the tonal abilities alone. Also it was much cheaper then buying it anywhere else, so I left the store with a great guitar only to find it sounds even better through my Orange half stank with some tube distortion on it. All in all ive owned it for a month or two now and I love it, go get you some...

The first thing I look for in a guitar when I pick it up and play it is the feel. The Mexican Jag felt almost EXACTLY like the USA version. The only noticeable difference in feel was the neck finish, which is more Satin on the USA, and more Gloss on the MIM. Other then that it played the same, looked the same, sounded the same, costed WAY less. I really get sick of people who make a big deal about Mexican instruments being "inferior", when they are made out of the same parts, same wood, and same electronics. The only difference I've noticed about american vs. mexican Fenders is the fret edges have been rough on a few of the mexican strats I've played, but I didnt find that on any of the three MIM Jags I played. Also there are few finish options on the mexican fenders (i wish they would put Surf Green on mexican fenders). That set aside, I seriously doubt most people could tell the difference between the two, and if they could would you want to pay more for the little differences? Doubtful. If players like Van Halen, and Tom Morello dont have a problem playing cheap/homemade guitars, why should you feel compelled to shell out the extra cash? The bottom line is, these are great guitars, and I would recommend you try them before you opt for the USA version.
