I'm primarily an electric player (my main guitar is a gibson les paul), but I've gotten interested in acoustic and wanted a portable guitar I could take ot camps and stuff. this far exceeded my expectations! The sound is phenominal, the playability is amazing. It really plays almost like an electric (just some buzzing on the 13th fret, top E) without sacraficing full acoustic tone. And surprisingly, the stock strings are so good I'm buying them as replacements! Oh, and it is NOT a laminated top, it's definetly solid spruce, I can tell by looking at it and its sound. Probably why its just as expensive as the cd 110, which has a laminated top and better electronics.

I bought this just to have around the house for fun. I am a Bass Player in real life and just wanted a good entry level acoustic to play. This guitar far surpassed my expectations! I was already a Fender fan so I looked at their guitars first. The quality of this guitar is amazing at this price. I love the finish on it and the action was great right out of the box. My guy at the local store where I got it compared it to a Taylor. Now, it is NOT a Taylor by any means. The action was nice and low though. For $250.00 this is one of the best guitars you can buy.

How did Fender do it?

I swear you can't even buy the materials for this guitar that cheaply! Somehow Fender does and they are able to make a strong, great sounding a/e guitar to boot. I picked one up at a local music store and played it unplugged against some much more expensive brands, and it was somewhat comparable, then I plugged it in and it out shined the competition. I needed to stay under $400, so I was playing the usual, Ibanez, Ovation, Dean, Washburn and Takamine in that range..this guitar blew them away. It's satin neck is a huge plus for we who sweat. The sound is brilliant. Unless I just got very lucky and found the one good one, you just can't go wrong with the CD100CE! Buy one!
