Rear Front Rear, Bottom Angle Right-facing With Guitar

The Fender Champion Amp is a 5W tube guitar amplifier with a 6-inch speaker and 1950 "two tone" cosmetics. This simple tribute to the cute and collectible 1949-53 era Fender guitar amplifier makes small-room sessions lots of fun! Originally intended as a student model, the Champion Amp (also known as the Champ) has also been employed by many professionals for its low output, easy-to-record capabilities. Fender has added a higher-gain preamp circuit to take the overdriven tone beyond that of the original, and a choice of High- or Low-gain inputs. An internal speaker output jack allows the use of a larger speaker cabinet.

The original Champion 600 had a low-gain preamp with 6SJ7 tube; the 12AX7 and associated tone circuitry lets the amp be driven harder for more overdrive.

5W tube power amplifier driving a 6-inch speaker provides perfect low volume for practice or recording. Internal speaker can be disconnected, allowing amp to be used with a larger external speaker cabinet.

Fender Champion 600 5W 1x6 Combo Amp Features:

I like this little guy

I bought one of these with the intention of modding it, which I still plan to do, but its a good sounding little amp right out of the box. Perfect for a first amp, a portable practice amp, or for recording. Obviously if you're wanting a metal tone it aint gonna happen with this amp but for a nice clean or classic rock tone it sounds great.

Champion 600 - A Great Place to Start

SUPER VERSATILE little tube amp!

I've played each of these through the 600 with great results and tone:

Carvin AE 185 - Electric/Acoustic semi-Hollow Bodied double-cutaway... the electric tones were classic Fender (minus the reverb - yet the amp breathes in my apartment)... the acoustic tones were crisp and warm

Martin DM (working man's Martin) with piezo transducer (no tone/volume controls) - the sounds were warm and bright if used without too much volume (feedback does happen, but is controllable with volume pot)...

Shure SM57 (in the High output) through a Digitech Vocalist 4 - vocals were clear and warm... harmonies were good also.

Hohner Harmonica + SM57 + Digitech Vocalist - actually got 'harp harmonies' with the thing that were sweet and warm sounding...

G&L L-2000 Bass Guitar - (o.k. so, I was pushing my luck here) it rattled on the lows, but still gave a sweet tube sound at practice levels!

I played the amp stock (tubes/speaker) and things were pretty o.k. but I also plugged the amp into a Weber 2x12 cab with Alnico 12A125'S and the little amp sounded much woodier (duh...)...

Overall, it's the most fun sounding amp I've played on (sound fer the $$$)... I've owned a Deluxe boutique clone that sounded better, but not for the $$$'s.

Best investment I've made in years! Keep in mind, the amp is a single-channel, volume only, 5 Watt, 6v6, two input amp with a 6" speaker. It does one thing REALLY WELL! And for the price, I hope to get a couple more of them...

Blessings to y'all!

A classic amp that is small with HUGE punch! Crank it up to 8 with the "high" outlet, you have a classic Fender blues sound. I play it through my Epiphone Dot and this baby sings...excellent for blues & jazz chords!! I may add a little distortion gain box (danelectro) for fun later...but this little guy has some PUNCH!!

It has little to no distortion when pushed without pedals, but cleans are pretty okay, the real problem is the speaker can't handle humbucking guitars like gibsons, and it can't really handle boosted signals either. (my friend tried that with his telecaster, not to mention it's still pretty loud, so i wouldn't use it for bedroom practice. if you have the time and money to get the tubes and speaker changed,it's great but other than that i'd go for the ac4tv

i bought the fender champ 600 about a month ago and love it! This is the best tone you can get for the money! This amp sounds so great. the only problem is that you can't get overdrive sounds out of it.
