I have the 2x12 version of this amp I bought about 5 years ago. Like others have said, the preamp tubes were bad and had a rattling sound on certain notes (just replace with some good Sovtek 12AX7s). Also, this amp doesn't have that ballsy warm "tube" sound unless you crank it in overdrive mode, and by that time it's WAY too loud, pretty useless for recording. The effects loop and foot switch ports are nice, and you can dial in all kinds of nice tone with the tone and presence knobs (and a "bright" switch). Don't let the 60 watt rating fool you - this amp is so loud your ears will bleed at "2", so it's great for live gigs. But like owning a Corvette, you'll rarely be able to use it's full power.

This is a great amp, extremely loud. The clean is sweeter than on a hot rod deville. Beautiful warm tone. Overdrive option is good for blues, I don't use it though, my effects board can do all the distortion I need.
One problem, it came with two bad preamp tubes. I was able to get them replaced with the warranty but it was pretty annoying to get a new amp with this problem. Other people have had this issue. Just play the amp when you get it, notice a weird internal buzz on certain notes? Check the preamp tubes.

I've had this amp for about five months. I play with it daily and drag it to my weekly gig. Great sound. Really responsive. It is the perfect mix of modern and traditional. What I mean by that is there is an FX loop, but not much else to make things difficult. You can get tons of clean out of this amp, or with a volume box or a pedal you can get a great BLUES distortion without blowing out the windows. If you don't mind loud, you can forego the volume box and pedal and use the overdrive channel. I would have preferred to go with something a bit lighter, but I need the ability to get loud and stay clean. I also wanted to be able to get that FX loop and keep everything tube. Most of the other Fender tube amps don't have FX loops. If this were stolen, I would probably try something else first just because I am always curious about what's over the next hill, but I would miss this amp like crazy. And, as a sidenote... you can retube and rebias this amp! There is a bias pot on the circuit board. I give a 4.0 for value because I think all new Fender products are over-priced.

I bought my B.D. 4x12 back in '95. I giged with it 6 nights a week for about a year. Since then I only play out with it 2-3 shows a month, but it has never failed me. In the 13 years I've used this amp, I have never changed the tubes. (never had any reason to) I took it to a licensed fender shop and they looked it over and didn't believe me when I told them how long I've been playing it.
As for power, these 60 watts go a looonnnngggg way. I can't ever remember turning my volume knob up past 3 on stage.
As for tone, I have used this amp for everything from rock to country to blues to disco. I can easily get a great tone for any of these styles with this amp.
You can't go wrong with this amp!!!

This amp is wonderful. It’s loud – so, don’t let its size fool you. You can gig it seriously in most any venue.
Most impressive is the tone. It’s rich and plentiful. There is an incredible range you can get. You can twang a Telecaster like Brad Paisley, you chunk and strum like Stevie Ray Vaughan, or you can even over drive the heck out of it with a tube screamer and produce mind-blowing metal and grunge.
I’m running a Les Paul Classic and I can tune it for the Daune Allman style of over driven slide. I also run a 57 reissue Stratocaster clean for Buddy Holly and over driven like Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Chris Duarte.
It likes my modified TS-9 as well. It really cranks.
Now, if you want to play it home and not have intense ringing in the ears when you go to bed, they make a volume control device that goes in the effects loop. It merely reduces the pre-amp push so you can crank the tubes to the right sound.
