i like this guitar so much but got some issues. It should've had a tone knob to make it more versatile. I love the neck profile and it's jumbo frets. bending is easy. the only problem is that it's not properly set up. the edges os the frets are quite sharp. I like the extra contours in it's body. The volume knob location is fine with me. I'm also pleased with the hard case that goes with it. EMG 60's are great! I just hope that Fender Mexico will also focus more on their quality control. It's a good buy for it's price range! :D

This is the best telecaster I have ever played. I didn't like active EMGs before. But they sound really GREAT in this guitar.
Features are quite simple, but gets you playing. quality is actually pretty good, but, yes, it have some issues, like the schallers and the bridge getting the color off. You will love the guitar, it will add to its mojo.
Value: Well. This is a simple but better sounding version of ibanez/jackson whatever metal guitar you like, with the look and feel of a telecaster. It play the blues and the jangle, mind you, the EMG60 GETS REALLY along with the guitar. I play surf rock and jazz with this guitar.
Sound: It's subjective; but the guitar is loud, saounds great. Its a lot better than the telecaster american deluxe, which I had to ship back because this guitar just kicked its arse in everything the other tele could do right.
I do NOT play metal. I do NOT play metalcore. And this is a fantastic buy.

This guitar, while it look's like a pretty good buy for the metalhead, but I do have one issue; the strings. To play most heavy metal, one must drop the tunings of their guitar. From my experience, 9's can not be tuned tuned town to anything but a step lower then standard with a good guitar. Even the artist this guitar is named after uses 10's, allowing the guitar to be dropped to A tunings for songs such as "Psychosocial". Come on Fender, get it right...

I bought this based on the perfect combination of features for me, not even knowing who Jim Root was at the time. It took 3 guitars and many shipping delays from Fender to get one that wasn't flawed from the factory. They all had deep scratch finish flaws. In fact, the third one still had a light scratch in it that mostly rubbed out, and then the guitar got discounted enough so I kept it. I use the same EMG's in all my guitars for my current band project. I don't know why, but this thing just sounds so much more powerful and gritty than anything I own. I absolutley love this thing, and I think I'm going to order the black one. The neck rocks, the sound is awesome, the flat paint is unique and very cool. I love it.

Needless to say I was excited when I saw this guitar hanging on the wall. I plugged it into a Line 6 Spider II amp which I'd already played a copule Gibson Les Paul Custom's through but this guitar was the best I played all day. It was used and the neck could have probably been adjusted a bit but it plays crazy good. The fingerboard and neck allow you to play super fast and it's comfortable in your hand. The pickups are great; the 60 is great for solos and sweeping and the 81 gets great open low end, palm mutes and heavy riffs, I love the simple controls and the position of the 3 way switch. The locking tuners are a great thing to have. Amazing sound out of this, mahogany and ebony make this guitar even better. Try it out, whether you like Jim Root or not, try this thing out. I'm not a fan of the band or the player but I really love this guitar.
