Incredible tonal versatility on a distinctly American axe. |
The Fender American Standard Series Stratocaster HSS is a perfect electric guitar for players who like big, fat humbucker tone. Redesigned with improvements that include the modern C-shaped maple neck with glossed neck front and satin polyurethane finish on back for smooth playability. Bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws re-sized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. Custom staggered tuning machines eliminate the need for one of the string trees. Staggered pole pieces in the pickups provide balanced output across all strings, and specifically improves the G-string's tone. Two-point trem, rosewood or maple fretboard, and genuine Fender American craftsmanship add up to a Fat Strat style guitar that is a dream come true.
The return of the American Standard Series Strat continues Fender's tradition of commitment to the people who play Fender instruments out there in the real world. Today's American Standard Stratocaster guitars are worthy heirs of their revered ancestors-mindful of player needs and taking full advantage of modern advances, yet remaining completely true to the elements and spirit that made these instruments legendary in the first place. Improvements include redesigned bridges, neck and body finishes, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case. Still there are the beloved hand-rolled fingerboard edges, alnico V pickups and staggered tuning machines for tone and stability guaranteed to last a lifetime (with its limited lifetime warranty)! So make history with the redesigned American Standard!
Redesigned American Standard Strat® Bridge
Gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. Block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chamfered for access to deeper dives. Saddles have the classic look and tone, but with modern improvements (spacing, slot elongation, height screw length).
Bridge Component Specifics
American Standard' saddles- The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their tonal mojo'. Fender conducted tone comparison tests, and fell in love with them all over again. They have a wider tonal range and more character many other saddles. Then Fender improved them; narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), and also elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, while improving the string break angle over the primary contact point.
Tone-fusion' block- A typical cast bridge block is impregnated with a resin to eliminate voids' in the material and to bond it together this steel block is infused with copper, which makes the block 100% homogeneous metal. The result is a more musical, higher mass bridge that has more of that machined-block sound. Fender was also able to keep the same American Series profile for increased tremolo travel.

Awesome guitar but bad finish

I have a Sienna Burst HSS. The guitar is everything you'd expect out of a US Fender with one exception. I had a large chip (thumbnail size) of the finish pop off at the neck/body juncture. Nothing impacted this area. The chip just flaked off during normal (actually gentle) use. Fender said their warranty does not cover finishes so I am out of luck. Now I own one of the most beutiful guitars that I have ever seen, EXCEPT FOR A BIG HONKIN EYESORE OF BARE WOOD STICKING OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB!

I'm just a hobbyist who's had a guitar around most of my life. I've always dreamed of playing a Strat with a Marshall stack. Well, the stack will have to wait for the time being, but I finally decided to take the plunge on this American Standard HSS Stratocaster. Playing it through a Digitech RP 350 effects box into a PA gives me a good idea of what this baby can do, and I am more than pleased. The action is dreamy and I'm amazed at how much easier this guitar is to play than the others I've had through the years, and how much better I am with it. I liked the idea of the extra versatility with the HSS setup, and I wasn't disappointed. The finish is flawless and the Sienna with rosewood fretboard is just plain stunning to look at. It is now my pride and joy.

I picked up this model Strat a few days ago, I was very very impressed. The smooth fast style of this neck is fantastic. I have and play a Gibson 335, and a Schecter S1 Elite, and for all around use this Strat has the fastest smoothest action. For most Blues I use the Gibson but this new Strat will give it some competition I am sure..

You get it all with this one strat

I have had this strat for three or four months now and it is a fantastic piece of equipment! It looks and sounds flawless. You really can achieve a wide variety of sounds with this guitar. Jazz, blues, rock, funk... whatever! That said, you probably won't be happy with this guitar if you want that mellow jazz hollow body sound because the strat does have its limitations. But, I have owned an Epi Broadway, I have owned semi-hollows, I have a Les Paul, and I have owned a regular strat, and i can tell you as someone who is slightly obsessed with sound and being able to play a ton of different types of music, this strat has the ability to cover an extremely wide variety. I have finally quit searching and am really pleased with this guitar. The quality is fantastic. The neck is perfect and fits in your hand beautifully. Everything on it is top notch. I think that the features Fender should be able to design a bridge that the tremelo spring doesn't fall out of that's why I gave the features a 4.5. I also think new Fender equipment is over-priced so I gave a 4.0 for value.

American Standard HSS Rocks

I just received the American standard HSS in Blizzard Grey with the Maple neck. The guitar is a beauty, one of the best looking around. I had to have the guitar set up by a professional as the bridge and action came from the factory not to my satisfation. Once properly set up it is a winner. You get the distinctive Strat one with two pickup settings as well as a stronger, fatter distortion with the humbucker on the other three settings. My only knock on the guitar is it does not hold tune if you nail the whammy bar too hard, other than that, I highly recommend it.
