Best I've Ever Played!

Just received my Am. Ash Tele (8502) and I have to say, this is the best US Made Tele I've ever owned, or laid my hands on! I've owned several Teles over the years, but this Am. Ash Tele beats them all hands down! At 50 years old, I know what quality is, and this is a first class US Made Tele in all ways. I've never felt a neck as satiny smooth as this one. Your hand just glides over it. The fretwork is just fantastic, and the overall fit and finsih is just superb! It has been a long, long time since I've handled, played or owned a guitar that almost leaves me speechless, but this one does! For the money, I don't think you can beat the value of the 8502 Am. Ash Tele. Leo Fender would be proud of this one! If you can only afford one "nice" Tele style guitar, BUY THIS ONE!

Fender's best kept secret

Having played many Telecasters of all kinds over the last 30 years I was intrigued by the design brief of the "8502". Could it really do the '52 reissue with a modern twist thing successfuly? Well it does, and some! I think I could have spent years trying to upgrade another Tele to the standard of this one. It has the lot, traditional body feel, a comfy neck, a well thought out take on the modern bridge design AND great sounding pickups, neither too "vintage" dark or too "modern" bland. The no load tone control is just icing but, like all icing, very sweet. Why isn't this Fender's "standard" American Tele?

PS: please excuse the low "features" score but I can't in all honesty give a tele high marks for features. It scores a 10 only if you're smart enough to realise it has all you need.

Best Tele there is

The regular American Series Tele is a great guitar, but you can have an even better one. I've tried the '52 re-issue, but I think this one beats it tonewise and in the looks department. (No yucky butterscotch pudding color here.) The ash body and "modern-vintage" pickups give this guitar an even snappier and twangier tone. I've had this guitar out on 2 country gigs, and it rips! You can cut through without having to max out the volume. Also, the tone control on this guitar really tames the guitar when needed....one of the most effective (and useful) tone controls I've ever had. Get the honey blond model....it looks great, although not quite as yellow-ish as it looks in the picture...it's actually more of a white color than anything. I have 3 Gretsches and 2 Strats which all sound great, but this one beats them all for country music. I'm sure this guitar would do well in most rock outfits, but if you play country like I do, you gotta have one of these!

I recently bought one of these guitars and I kinda already knew that it would be a keeper. Still I was nonetheless curious for that confirmation that only comes from seeing and playing a new guitar firsthand. So when it arrived I tried it out and it exceded my expectations about a tele. The tones are vintage of course but they are pure and straightfoward and get the job done nicely. Country and Blues-rock sound really good on this guitar. But hey its a tele, that's to be expected. Out of the eight guitars I own, this one is my favorite now.

The Sleeper from Fender

I bought this guitar without playing one first, and how was I suprised. Right out of the box, it played great. The quality is superb. The neck is really comfortable, and pickups are good and hot. These guitars have a very vintage vibe to them. I play it through a Fender Custom Vibrolux, and the two instruments really compliment each other. This one is a keeper. I use it for mainly country picking, but I've played it on a couple of blues, and rock numbers, and it shines on those too. Country music is where it really shines. Get yourself one of these, you won't be disapointed.
