This is my first American electric guitar and I couldnīt be happier. Love the fact that Fender thinks about starting musicians who are looking for a pro sound for just a few bucks. This is a beautiful instrument and Fenderīs signature sound is just there, no doubt about it.

Best thing Fender makes

The Highway One series has a great, classic tone. I own several of this series, both Strat and Tele. The most important consideration is the following -

Fender has poor quality control. I have not owned a fender guitar or bass that didn't need fret work straight out of the box since 1991. The problem with the Standard Series (both U.S. and Mex) is that with medium jumbo fret wire a fret dress renders them unplayable due to too little fret wire remaining after they're level. The Highway One series uses super jumbo fret wire so once you've had the frets properly dressed you still have enough fret height to have killer action.

The Alnico 3 pickups sound fantastic. Hot signal and solid, twangy tone. No need for Duncans or Texas Specials though they're really good too.

To sum up: Buy a Highway One, have the frets dressed by a reputable luthier and you'll have the best thing Fender makes.

I'm not a fan of Fender, never have been. But I've always had a thing for the Tele. I finaly got around to picking one out this was at the top of my list. American made but not to much on the wallet. I have to say I got my moneys worth. Wonderful guitar, great sound and look. Plays looks just as good as the American standard for almost half the price.

Highway Tele

Great guitar for the money, not as over priced as the rest of the USA models. Not a flaw, changed strings to 10's and set up to my own taste. I have had several Highway Strats and Teles and havent had a problem with a single one. I have had American standards USA reissues that I cant say the same about. I recommend the Highway series to anyone wanting a great guitar without spending hundreds more just for a gloss finish

Bought my Hwy One Telecaster used through M.F. Love it!!I love the feel of a tele but I play alot of top 40,classics and R&B so I prefer alittle more BEEF,so I put a Hot Rails pickup in the bridge and a Dimarzio humbucker in the neck position. It's sweet sounding when I want it to be but it growls when I need it to.I did the modifications myself but I wouldn't recomend it if you're not experienced with a router.I'm considering buying another one and keeping it stock.I highly recomend this guitar
