3 Tone Sunburst Black

The Fender '72 Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar is a versatile tone machine. 1972 was a magical year for the Telecaster, as the venerable design spawned options and new designs left and right. Controls include 2 volume and 2 tone knobs plus a 3-way toggle switch. Black/white/black pickguard.

Most Versitile Guitar

This guitar can do many different things. It has the single coil and the humbucker for a very versitile guitar. I can get very fluttery tones all the way to some deep grunge tones. I will mention that the humbucker is a little sloppy on certain settings but rarely. It is just one small blemish in a very beautiful and great sounding guitar. Overall you can use this for many different applications. You could play country western and then switch over to playing 80's metal or 90's grunge. I love mine. I had a strat and I can do so much more with this. The tone is awesome and the action is just as nice as anything I have ever played. I would describe this guitar like a Les Paul/stratocaster hybrid. If youre lookin for a good solid guitar that will not let you down then this is it.

I bought this guitar almost one year ago, and love it, I was looking for a telecaster to play blues & Keith Richards sort of stuff when someone mentioned this, I couldn't find one in any of my local music stores, so I took a chance & ordered it. The only thing I dont like is that there does not seem to be a lot of replacement parts for it like the unique pickguard & the fender humbucker (which I'm told I can replace with other brand humbuckers). I'm thinking of replacing the single coil pickup with a beefier Dimarzio. The quality seems very good for a Mexican Fender, I really do wish Fender would come out with an American made reissue of this guitar, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for one minute. This tele rocks, I would recomend it to anyone who wants a Telecaster with a little extra punch & crunch than a regular one. Great guitar overall.

I love this guitar. It has a perfect tone with a perfect feel to it. My guitar teacher says that he really likes it and thinks it sounds amazing. He also said that he saw a band and saw the lead guitarist and singer with my guitar. He said that it sounded great live. I would definetly recommend this guitar for anyone especially people who play live. If you want a new guitar get this.

It's a great guitar, and can be used for any number of different playing styles. the neck is very playable, and its easy to get almost any sound that you want with its two different pickups. The only thing this guitar isn't very good for is hardcore/scream-0 style of music, but that would be expected out of a telecaster.

Made in Mexico

First off, let me start by saying the quality of the pictures give this guitar no justice. I bought the three-tone burst, and the guitar is beautiful. And I think that's all fender focused on when they produced this guitar. Second, the pick-ups are thin and weak. I replaced the single coil immediately with a Seymour Duncan 5-2. That helped a little. Also, know one makes an after market wide range pick up(humbucker) for this guitar. So, you’re stuck with (Mexico) fender on that issue. Third, the guitar was waaaayyyy out of adjustment. I had to dish out another $100 to get it set up to "fender" spec. The truss rod way off, the bridge height was a joke, and the neck had to shimmed to keep it from buzzing. SO...After purchase price, adjustment/set up, pick-up replacement, and hard shell case (because it comes with a crappy gig bag) I have over $1000 into it. And it's still a Mexican guitar! Bottom line is this is a middle of the road guitar at best. It's value is set way too high. If your considering this guitar, spend a little more and get an American Fender or Gibson.
