After going through many amps, looking for that nice clean sound ,I played my 68 guild starfire 1V through this amp , and finally found the right amp for Jazz and blue's , debated about the stock speaker, but it sounding great, this is a great jazz amp, it has beautiful cleans without being thin, it's light ,and you get a beautful sound at low volumes , and it is light,
don,t buy the Mesa express for jazz, try this one first

I love this amp. It's the right weight for toting around, smooth, glassy, crystalline clean tone for days. Thougt I was going to swap out the C10R but now that it's broken in, no need to! Overdrives nicely with a MXR-133 Micro Amp. This is it people!

Fender Reissue 65 Princeton Reverb

At home, at low volume, it's sweet and musical. When used on a gig, it breaks up nicely at higher volumes, but allows you to control the distortion with your guitar volume.
I play my Telecaster (R & B and rock) and Ibanez AF105 (jazz) through the Princeton, and it's full value for all styles of music. Heavy metal wouldn't be advised, though.
I think the 10" Jensen is especially suited to jazz - heavier gauge strings, with your tone rolled off, won't cause the amp to "boom".
There aren't a lot of controls - not even a mid-range - but I'm not sure you'll need them.
I realize this is a faithful reissue model, but a couple of compromises would be welcome - like a headphone jack (for quiet playing) and a line-out for direct plugging into such rigs as the Bose.
Remember, though, you can always mic the amp and retain most of its tonal character, provided the band or house PA is up to the task.
Great amp - nice size, versatile, great with headroom or with break-up. More useful, in my case at least, than the Deluxe Reverb Reissue which is simply too loud.

Favorite amp despite minor problems

If you play a Telecaster or Rickenbacker you need this amp. I have a DRRI and a Vox Ac-15 but favor the bright glassy sound of the Princeton.

Would have been 5 stars if it didn't rattle.

I got the PRRI brand new and factory sealed. Within a minute of playing at mid volume and tone I heard the rattle/buzz that this reissue is known for (probably due to the MDF baffle and lightweight speaker). But I've had the rattle fixed with baffle and back bracing and now the sound is sweet! I love it with my Am Dlx Ash Strat and Kinmans. The stock speaker is a really good match in this case. Reverb and tremolo are gorgeous. Highly recommended, but be prepared for a possible rattle when you play around F# on the low E string. This could pose a problem if you don't have the tools to fix it, and if you send it back the replacement might do the same thing because of the baffle material.
I am going to get a matched set of JJ 6V6 tubes because the stock 6V6 tubes are not matched and one tube is running quite cool.
