There's no more comfortable guitar whether standing or sitting than the Fender '62 Jaguar Electric Guitar. A faster, smarter offspring of 1958's Jazzmaster, this baby has much easier action because of its reduced 24" scale length. The single-coil pickups resemble those of the Strat with the addition of a "keeper" that increases current through the pickup coil and reduces sensitivity to hum. The result is more kick in the mids and less noise. The Fender Jag shares the same preset circuitry found on the Jazzmaster and a trio of selector switches. An individual on/off switch for each pickup and a subtle high-pass filter switch round out the Jag's tonal versatility. Maple neck on alder body with rosewood fretboard and vintage-style floating trem. Funky (removable) string dampener is included for historical accuracy. Includes Fender hardshell case.

Fender '62 Jaguar Electric Guitar Features:

  • Alder body
  • Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
  • Special Design American Vintage Jaguar single-coil pickups
  • Individual on/off switches and rotary volume wheels
  • Lead and rhythm circuits
  • Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners
  • Vintage-style floating trem
  • Chrome hardware

Fender '62 Jaguar Electric Guitar Includes:

  • Fender hardshell case

You'll buy it because it's collectible and consummately funky, but you'll play it because you LOVE it!

My First Fender

I went to my local shop to buy a reverb pedal and ended up with this; and a severe telling off from my mrs (she got over it when she saw the guitar). Olympic White, turt pickguard.

The reason why I bought it was simple.. it had a large dent in the side. obviously been dropped from a great height onto something... damaging. The rest of the body was sound and no other damage apart from a slight bend in a tuning peg. SO IT WAS A TOTAL BARGAIN... like.. 50% off

I have a Gibson es-359 Custom, SG and Epi Sheraton. This one stands out due to it's single coil amazingness. I can't put it down.. even the custom doesn't get played at the moment! A totally amazing, versatile tone machine.

Unlimited Tone Options and Amazing Playability

I got mine in Olympic White and can't believe how beautiful it is. I own a American Standard Strat, a gretsch corvette and an Ibanez S Prestige, and this guitar by far is my favorite. withot even touching my amp ( I play through a peavey classic fifty) I can tweak many tones ranging from blues grit to classic rock vibe. The wacky string mute is actually alot of fun to mess around with and doesn't get in the way of anything so I don't see why everyone takes it off. Another unnecessary mod everyone seems to do is swap the bridge with a mustang bridge. Some people complain that the strings jump from the saddles, but i have had to strum extremely hard to make this happen. I think these people need to hone their right hand technique in a little more instead of performing a mod that changes some of the instrument's unique tonal character. This is a fantastic instrument, and will be in my hands for a long time.

Stunning instrument

You're probably going to look at my 5 stars in every field and say "He couldn't possibly think that highly of an instrument, and if he does, he is ignorant as hell." Incorrect. In my admittedly small 5 years of playing, I've played everything from Rickenbackers to Epi Sheraton IIs to Gibson 335s to Eastwood copies of Airline guitars (my personal favourites, those last two) and a multitude of other guitars. So that will let you know just how serious I am about the high rating.

I bought mine used off of eBay. She's Olympic White with a brown tort guard. Came with an aftermarket roller bridge, which didn't stun me, but the guy included the original bridge in with it, as well as the mute and the case. Have yet to get all the parts for the mute, though.

But even without all of that stuff, I've got a lot of love for this thing. So much versatility and playing comfort! If you listen to Cake, you will absolutely rave over this guitar. Plug her into a Fender Blues Deluxe and you will understand me when I say "This instrument sounds like God in an 8-pound alder package." Surf, obviously, but even classic rock, rockabilly, even punk and ska are well-represented here (Lagwagon and some old-school Smashmouth, anybody?). Anything where you do a lot of rhythmic strumming and intricate melody work will benefit greatly from the use of such a fine instrument.

And the tremolo is as solid as a Floyd Rose. No exaggeration whatsoever, I checked with a tuning machine, absolutely no change. Those vintage reproduction tuners are the best tuners of any kind that I have ever used.

Just do yourself a favor, save yourself some time, and buy the bloody thing already.

Jaguars are fabulous guitars!

I was hesitant about purchasing a Jag, but I decided to take a plunge and pick one up. I am so glad I did, it is one of Fender's best designs. The Jaguar is a highly underrated instrument that is very versatile. I have had no problems with buzzing bridge, string skipping from the saddles, or any other minor problems commonly associated with the Jaguar. I tend to be light on the strings, so that may have something to do with it- and it was set -up really well from the get go. After having this guitar for a month, I ended up selling both my Tele and Strat because the the Jaguar filled the role without having multiple guitars. Not to say that a Jaguar sounds exactly like either a Tele or Strat, but you can find a wide range of tones between either one of the previously mentioned 'more popular' Fenders. Besides, the thing looks damn cool, and the construction is on part with a lot of Custom Shop models I've played. Oh yeah, it can summon beautiful country and soul tones as well- Don't let anyone tell you anything different!

The BEST Guitar EVER!!!!

This is the best guitar ever. I have had it only about 2 months but I think it's awesome! At first the pickups were really confusing but I think I got them figured out now. My neighbor thinks that a 72 telecaster is better but he knows nothing about guitars!!! I think that my Jag is really speacial because it was the last one in Ice Blue ever made in the U.S. My Point: Jaguars R Awesome.

Thanks Fender! U ROK!
