Blows American made Strats away

I bought this guitar back in 2003 and love everything about it. I play mainly PRS McCarty & Custom 22 but have been using this guitar more and more.

I've owned a Fender SRV Signature Strat and played several American Standards and have to say that this "Made in Mexico" 60s Series Fender blows the American Standard away. It feels better and with DiMarzio Virtual Vintage pickups sound a million times better. I paid in 2003 $569 and know it was a KILLER DEAL. I will never get rid of it. Nice job Fender!!!

Nice Guitar...But How Much?

I personally own 2 of these 60s classics, one in lake placid blue and one in black. They are well crafted MIM guitars as they have excellent playability and sound good, but at the current prices probably not a worth while purchase.

This is the best guitar I ever played. It's got everything! The neck and fingerboard feels great and I love the sound (but I had to get used to it...) I bought it from a local music store and it's just great! If you get a chance, BUY IT!

This guitar has great looks and a great feel when playing it. Any note on the fret board is easy to reach. The synchronized tremolo is great, especially at high volume. Great for Rock and Blues. This guitar is really feels and sounds like a classic, I recommend it.

Not Bad

I bought this guitar because of the way the neck felt. Very good for a Mexi Strat. Upon bringing it home, I noticed a few small imperfections..like the lack of proper shielding behind the pickguard. Every time I would strum the guitar, I would hear a slight static noise. Probably because of the way I play..(I usually rest my pinky finger on the pickguard to stabilize my hand). I picked up some Samarium cobalt noiseless pickups a few years ago, but didn't actually use them so I installed them including some proper shielding on the pickguard. The static is now gone. I might re-wire the whole thing, and put in some better qhality volume pots/tone pots and a new switch. I'm not bashing this guitar because it plays excellent! The neck is a very well put together piece of work! And the trem unit works equally as well. I think it's the Lake Placid blue that got me hooked! I'd say try one out. You might just agree with me.....
