I bought this guitar 6 months ago and it is a sensation! Really good and creamy tone, I have it in sunburst which is beautiful fading from black to a firey red! I play rock, some blues funk and ambient music and it suits these styles perfectly. The only downside is the pickguard: white and not mint green like it should be!

I have this guitar in Daphne Blue except mine has gold hardware. Amazing tone and excellent playability, has a very full, glassy, bright sound that really cuts through and is distinguished from alot of other guitars. The neck is really fast with a little care and polishing and has a really great feel to it. The neck is very well set, no gaps or any irregularities. Excellent quality control from Fender!

The Real Deal

I am a professional touring musician and have been lucky enough to have worked with many of the world's amazing musicians. While playing with the lead guitarist from Television on his last tour, I found myself in the position to be playing and warming up on his classic 60's strat that is a famous member of their band in it's own right. Now I'm a young guy and have always been curious about these old strats. I instantly fell in love with the playability of the guitar and then knew why people have always sought those early 60's strats. After that tour was over I kept looking for a guitar of that playability and sound. Over and over I was disappointed until I finally saw one of these in some sealed glass case at the local guitar shop. It took about 5 minutes on one of these to know that it was coming home with me. The neck is full, but not too full. And it is as smooth as silk. The sound is very unique. It sounds like an early 60's strat. Do not mistake this for a Hot-rodded Texas sound. It is much more warm and 'glassy' in it's tone. I did have the pickup selector switched to a five way as well for more options. And finally, the looks and feel of this guitar is breathtaking. The aging is just right with the wear and tear giving it a great look without affecting the actual insides of the instrument. It is also an extremely light strat. All in all, for the money you can't go wrong with this guitar. You are paying a premium, but if you are looking for this particular sound and look in an instrument, you won't be finding it for less.

What a Strat is All About

I have owned so many Strats over the years that it is almost funny. MIM, American Deluxe, hybrids, Squiers, Koa, and a few others. I always thought the Custom Shop models were pretentious rip offs, just a way to sell the same stuff at a much higher price but with a few dents. I was totally wrong. I now own this guitar and it puts the rest to shame, because it sings. Chime, bell tone, clarity. Wonderful feel, nitro body, my rosewood has a really cool stripe running down it. I did have the 5-way switch put in for more sounds, and it is all I needed to do to make it a great, great guitar. I am really enjoying it and am glad I sprang for the high-priced Strat.

This is a serious guitar. From the attention to vintage details to the most playable neck I've found on a Strat, Fender's Custom Shop has outdone itself. The price is right, too, at least for a guitar of this caliber.
