This is a very nice little practice amp. The one problem that I have is that the "drive" knob has to be all the way down for a clean tone. You see, I'm a Fender guy, if I wanted a cheap fuzz sound, I'd buy a Marshall. But if you want a nice practice amp with the Fender name for a great price, this is it.

This little guy packs a punch. Its got a nice tone for country or for rock rhythm guitar. All the knobs go to 12, and if you are a big Spinal Tap fan like me, that makes it even cooler. The only problem I have is that is doesn't have much treble output. It sounds like you are playing on the neck pickup the whole time. But for country or rhythim guitar, that's a very acceptable tone.

I just got this amp today. It was a Stupid Deal of the Day. I just didn't know what to expect, but I'm impressed so far. This is about the width of the old Mini-Twins, but it's a bit higher & a tad deeper. The tweed is well done, and it looks nice. That handle is completely functional. It gives you enough slack that you can use it to carry it. I wouldn't trust the mounting brackets, though. I like the 'new' smell that it had, when I took it out of the package.

Those that are familiar with the old Twin will be pleasantly surprised by the sound, I think. The old Twin in my opinion has always sounded the best of all the 9v powered amps. The problem with the previous model is that you had to turn the gain knob to at least '2' or '3', if you wanted to hear the clean channel adequately. This amp has no problem with the clean channel being heard. In addition, it is very quiet. At full volume & gain, there is no hum. There is only a slight hiss, which I find quite preferable. The quarter size headphone jack make it a lot easier to use as a line-out. The sound is good through headphones. The cabinet seems solid and sturdy. The plastic cabinet on the previous model would color the sound slightly at louder volume. The input jack on top makes it a lot harder for the cord to tip it over. In addition, the amp is a little heavier. The sound is good both loud and clean.

There are only two things that I don't like: The nameplate is plastic. The old one had a metal nameplate. The other thing I don't like is this one did not include a battery. Previous models had batteries included. I can't see this lasting any worse than the other Mini-Twins that I've owned. I've owned this less than a day, but the quality should be good. Based on my past experience with Fender practice amps, I expect this amp to be a great value. I think it sounds better than the Epiphone Mini-Tweed.

I got this as a stupid deal of the day. Just comparing to mini amps, this is pretty good. I have the Dean Micro Amp, and this is a significantly better amp. The guitar barely breaks up on the small speakers, but you have to use distortion to get any significant sound. It's a nice little practice amp in my opinion.

This is a cool little amp if you keep in mind that its 1 watt and has 2 2" speakers. Its louder than i expected, and the drive works good as long as you don't max it.The only problem i found with it is that i cannot get it to work right with a 9 volt battery, maybe my batteries were old.Works fine with an adapter though. Its just a toy for me, but usefull when i'm outside on the deck and don't want to bother the neighbors with a full sized amp..
