This forerunner of the Telecaster was first named the "Broadcaster," but Fender had to remove the decals because of a conflict with Gretsch's registered "BroadKaster" name. So collectors dubbed it the "Nocaster." This Closet Classic version looks like it has gracefully aged since '51.

Simple perfection

The utter simplicity of the Nocaster is the key of its success. The pickups sound rich and full with just enough twang, and the honey blonde finish is stunning. This guitar is a little pricey, but is definelty worth it if you can save up for it. A masterpiece.

Fender custom shop has really shined with this issue. I've never owned and Fender, so I decided to get one. I was going for a nice Strat, but I read so much about how great the Telecaster was. Now I know why, and the Nocaster, in my opinion, is the reason why. The thick neck and ample but light (light ash) body allow this instrument to vibrate from head to toe and right through your chest. The fretboard is perfect in every way, allowing for the ultimate in musical expression. I just can't put this guitar down. I actually think about it when I'm not playing it. That speaks volumes. Treat yourself to one of the finest guitars Fender has to offer. Hot, gorgeous sounding pickups too!

who needs a strat

I think as far as a fender sound goes this is as good as it gets. The fender company did great with this they got as close to a les paul as they could. The only thing I would like better would be bigger frets but as far as everything else it beats a strat easily. The best tele I've played so if youve already got a les paul and want a fender this is the one and its a cheaper custom shop but hay it is a custom shop.
