Will Be Nice -- After a LOT of Work!

Title says it all. QC was nonexistent on this, but the stuff that's wrong -- and there was a lot -- is at least fixable.

The pickup switch and neckplate were bad, the finish was covered with gobs of wax & goop, but the nut isn't even fitted - it's the worst nut I have seen in my life, just a blank with guide grooves. It's like for slide, unplayable otherwise.

Neck & frets are OK, finish is OK after cleanup.

After getting it repaired under warranty, it should be nice, but that's a bad start.

This guitar appears to be a cheap cookie cutter replication of the original. I was sadly dissapointed in the quality of this guitar. It was bought as new but had scratches on the plastic covers, the finish was marred and the neck joint and neck were not much better (or worse) than cheap Korean guitars.

Reviewer's Background: In a little band, I play bass though.

This guitar is build pretty solid, and should hold up very well when gigging. It sounds pretty good, and the action is perfect (for me), it's very low, but with little buzz. I'm not so hot on the pickups though (pun intended), the neck pickup dosn't give me enough bass. The neck pickup is also too cool for my liking, I wish it were hotter, so it could be farther away from the strings and give it a less bright sound. The finish is really nice, I have it in the dark metalic blue, which looks black unless you take it into the sun. The tone pot for the bridge is a little funky though, when I put it below about 4, my sound starts to get cooler, and by the time the tone pot is at 1, there is no sound left! The tone pots shouldn't work like volume knobs. Overall, this is a solid, pretty good sounding guitar that plays really well. I reccomend this as an alternative to those faded Gibsons.

I love Fender, and what they did to this guitar is outta this world. The pickups they put on this guitar are really nice. The only complaint I have is that where you plug the cable in was loose and would fall out, but that was an easy fix. So, overall, this is a really awesome guitar. Good job Fender!

First of all, it's a Fender. Fender is the best there is. But this guitar has a unique design and great looks that look great on stage. An overall great guitar.
