MIDI Clock Sync failure

This product has been advertised from day 1 to sync to MIDI Clock. However, I quickly discovered that once I captured a phrase & looped it, it fell out of MIDI Sync rather quickly. If you own a TimeFactor & have not noticed this, sync it to a MIDI sequencer or drum machine, play a standard 8 beat pattern @ let's say 120 tempo & select Whole notes or even Half notes on the TimeFactor. Capture 1 measure at any point, whether the downbeat or otherwise, & wait a few moments for it to gradually & exponentially fall out of sync w/ the MIDI clock. Hence, it does not entirely "sync to MIDI Clock" as advertised. I made the manufacturer Eventide aware of this over a year ago & have been back & forth w/ them ever since. Several months even went by w/ them ignoring my emails. They've finally & recently indicated a patch will be issued but that it will not completely remedy the issue, but rather make it fall out of sync a little bit less than it does now. Whoopee! But not what I wanted. I have yet to receive notice of the alleged patch. Also, if you switch effects or delay speed during a loop, the captured loop gets jumbled & does not stay intact in its original form. All in all, it is a great concept, but poor follow through & even worse follow-up on Eventide's part. FIX IT!

Eventide Time Factor

This is hands down the best digital delay out there. I've owned a Dd-3, DD-20, DL4, and now the Eventide. The two delays at once makes it in a different league than the others. The Boss' had a good basic digital delay, but little variety in tone. The DL4 has a lot of variety, but poor digital delay. (Everything sounds more modulated compared to the boss' or Eventide, not to mention Line 6's stellar reputation for reliability, everyone I know that has bought one has had there's break at least once.) All these delays were played alongside other top shelf pedals, through a Matchless Independence 2x12. It is 100% worth every penny. This makes it on my short list of absolutely recommended pedals alongside the Keeley Compressor, Roger Linn Adrenalinn (if used with a Keeley Looper or effects loop), and Fulltone Choral flange. If you are in the market for a delay pedal; play this one, or at least listen to clips. Invest in the best, and you won't have to buy multiple inferior delays.

It's the best delay pedal you can buy, hands down. it can be musical like an analog delay or rhythmic like a digital delay. every possible delay is in this little box... my only complaint is that it isn't a standard powered pedal. I can get over the center positive part, but 1200 mA?... gah, my SKB board doesn't support this pedal, meaning I have to power it off the pedal board, exactly what I was trying to avoid... anyway... great Pedal

I've had mine for about 6 months. Awesome delay & modulation sounds here. A chorusing effect on the repeats? Yum. Nothing sounds like an Eventide. This is now the only effect pedal on my board other than a wah. I have no need for anything else. I run direct with a p&w band, using it 3 times a week. We play it all: rock, pop, funk, mass choir, etc. It hasn't let me down yet. I have not tapped into all it can do. It can intimidating but spend time with the manual & it'll be worth it. It's a great tool & it will inspire you to play. I dumped a G-major for this & I haven't looked back. This makes me want an Eventide Eclipse! Get the TimeFactor & you won't regret it. It will take your playing to another level. Inspiring!

The Time Factor

I bought this Eventide stomp box knowing that the Eventide name would probably live up to it's reputation. So far right out of the box I am extreamly pleased to say the least! I currently have two Roland SDE 3000 Digital delays in a large rack unit from the 80's and this Eventide Time Factor has the same transparent quality signal in my opinion. My Rolands can do up to 9000ms and the Time Factor only does 3000ms but just right out of the box I am able to easly create a signal to pull off Cathedral Volume swells and at the drop of a hat I got a simple delay for the background of my guitar with one repeat. Now I think I should read my owners manual. Man this box is high quality! too bad it took all these years for "Eventide" to turn us on to this! I seriously recommend it!
