I have had the same problems that everyone else has had...popping, crackling, impaired range, etc. I think the pot gets dirty very easily and, all too often, comes from the manufacturer that way. I've taken to keeping a can of contact cleaner in my gig bag and zapping the pot whenever it starts to act up. It works for about six months, then, needs another cleaning. For this price, it should not have this problem, but, when it's working, it works great. I just use it as a voltage controller, anyway...

This beauty does not use batteries. The Potentiometer with 250kOhm involves passive instrument effects. It is great for accurate volume swells.

I have had this pedal for more than three years now and have never had a problem with "losing tone" or crackling pot. I play every day, and gig twice a week. I am quite hard on my pedals.. It has been to London, Namibia, South Africa, and back to my home in Central Texas with no problems.. Maybe I have been lucky.. really really lucky.. but I absolutely love it. It gets the job done.

Garbage. Used it for about 10 shows but it didn't seem right from the beginning. Simple set up, PRS, VPjr, Boss Tuner, Dynacomp, Rectoverb. Pot started crackling within a week, switch for swell rate fell off the first time I touched it, never got to try the difference. Had older EB volume pedals that were fine, but this one disappoints. Took out of the chain and replaced with another. Same problems within weeks. I hated to use another manufacturer because I never was happy with another either. Took out of the chain again and just quit using a volume pedal until something with this footprint is made that works. Bummer
