Epiphone Valve Standard Combo Amplifier. Tone is great, little too heavy but I won't be moving it beyond my garage. Good practice amp. BUT I am getting a metallic buzz whether my guitar is in or not. Can any one help.

I got the AMP about year ago and since then I have nothing else but lots of fun playing with it,I have a Gibson SG Gothic and with this baby I realy discovered real potential of that guitar, I just can't get enough of that rich and warm sound, very good product.

Great crunch tone

I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this by reputation and price alone. Without having actually heard it. When I first plugged my les paul in, I was dissapointed at how dark the sound was, not much treble. However, after playing with the EQ (Treble at max, mid at 50% and bass at 50%), the gain at around 60% and the master volume at 60% I can get a fantastic sounding vintage rock crunch tone. A totally different feel from pedal or modeling distortion. It doesn't feel the same to play, you have to play a bit harder, but it responds to your playing, as you dig in, it sings a little more. The reverb is fine and the FX are usable. But the best thing is, you can get a great crunch tone at a reasonable volume level. The PA guys will love you!

True blue tube tone. If you always wanted to experience tubes without busting your wallet, these Epiphones are real sweethearts. I played Marshalls (and nothing else) for years, and when you hear what tubes sound like it's unmistakable. We hooked up a CryBaby Q535 to this amp with a Gibson Les Paul - and it cranked. Led Zep to Schenker to AC/DC. Turn it to clean with a Strat, and it is crystalline (think the intro to Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game") Great little amp (the onboard effects are not really usable though - they should be left off, but the reverb is OK although it is digital, not spring, as it should be).

Rich, warm sound

I've had it for almost a year now and it has been great. I matched it with an Epiphone Dot and the two make a great pair. I've played a strat on it and it sounds okay, not fantastic. I think it is better suited for a humbucker guitar. The onboard effects are okay and fun to play around with but they aren't the best. That's why I gave it a 9 on the features. But I didn't buy it for the effects anyway. I bought it for the warm, clean sound. The volume is very good for home use and pratice but I'm not sure how it would do against some bigger amps in a live event or club use. I have to use it at low volumes due to apartment life and it sounds very good with rich sound at low volumes. It is very well constucted and nothing seems cheap or flimsy on it, in fact, it's built like a tank. The thing is heavy for a 15 watt amp. Not a problem though since it stays in the house. Look around for one on sale, Great deal for a great amp.
