Best Amp (for the Money) Out There

This is a great practice amp, turn it up to 1/3 volume and you have creamy vintage clean tube tones. From that volume and up it keeps getting more distorted and pretty loud. I haven't modded mine and don't intend to. Sounds great with humbuckers and singles, gets a bit muddy when playing full chords at louder volumes and is a bit bassy as well. Overall great, easy to use amp, especially for home or apartment use.

I really like this amp and cab. For starters, I don't like effects on amps, and that led me right away to this. I do use either an Ibanez analog delay or a Guyatone digital delay - but that's about it for effects for me.
I experimented with different tubes right away and settled on an early 60s Amperex 12AX7 that I plucked from a Norelco reel to reel, and a vintage Hitachi EL84 that I got off ebay for $10. I've made no other mods. My Epi Casino sounds great through it - from jazzy mellow to crunchy rock. My Strat sounds excellent through it as well - from spot on 70s Clapton tone to cutting leads.
Turning the volume about 1/2 way will start to produce microphonics - or overdive in guitar parlance. At about 3/4, it's just beautiful tube driven overdrive - nice.
It looks cool, is extremely well built, is easily modded, and sounds great. If it's vintage tone you want on a budget - look no further.

The Epiphone Valve Junior just saved me $1,800.00. I have been playing guitar for three years, and have suffered through three digital amps. I was going to break down and get one of the smaller Marshall JVMs because I just could not get the distortion I wanted in several other amps I tried - even with pedals. After doing some research, I decided to take a chance on the Epiphone Valve Jr. I am so happy now. It takes pedals very well, despite not having an effects loop. I use it with the Metal Zone when I need distortion, and clean for Jazz. Man, does it sound good to my aching ears, even at lower volumes. There was a slight muddiness in certain ranges with some of my guitars so I swapped out the tubes and now it is open and clear, no matter the guitar. I still plan on getting a '65 Deluxe Reverb for the extra watts, but with this amp has such great volume, warmth, and clarity that I am not in a hurry.

this was my first tube amp i got it at guitar center. its an overall great tube amp, its very durable, i use a telecaster with no pedals and it sounds great its, a little "bassy", but it has that tube tone thats sounds ALOT better than my other solid state amps! you wont regret buying it cuz i dont .
