I bought this head and its matching cabinet for use in band practice and eventually gigs. I just bought a Fender Deluxe Reverb back in March, and as much as I love that, I am horrified for it to be beat up. So, I resorted to this, to give my tone more bottom end and move more air, at a price I wouldn't "fret" over. I can not tell you how impressed I was with this amp. For solid state, this is the best out there. Sparkling cleans, vintage gain (although it can get a bit muddy if you don't know what you're doing), and plenty of effects that eliminates the need for me to haul my pedals to practice. DSP and Reverb sound analog...best effects I've ever heard packaged in an amp. Great buy. You will not regret it.

Im an average joe who beleives in value for all financial classes, even those who play guitar. Ive played through mesa boogies, classic fender amps, and others as well. Outside of the unattainable Tube universe, I had more fun playing through this amp. I use pedals, so the DSP isnt really for me but theyre not too bad. Its not a modeling amp. It's basic, and it comes in a really cool packaging too. Plenty of retro kitsch and it sounds great too. Great Value.

Very nice looking amp, very loud, has all the bells and whistles you need, built in effects work a treat with a pre pedal (digitech, zoom multis) very bassy distortion (not that flash unless you have a pre pedal) had to have bass all the way down to get a good treble effect otherwise very happy (footswitch handy too!!) Bought tis mostly because all other makes(at the shop i bought it) didnt have line outs so you couldnt run it through a PA/mixer, this has at least 2 options

I have to admit I had my doubts about this head. You will rarely find a solid state amp that sounds this good for the money. The looks are incredible first off, and its loud as all get out. I was really surprised by how much I like the reverb. Its almost analog sounding, Almost. The gain I thought was really good it gets muddy if you turn it all the way up. The other effects kinda suck but hey they usually do on just about every other amp out there too. Packaged with the 2x12 cab this amp is awesome. Definitely a good buy!!!!

I came at this amp attracted to the retro styling and the price. I came away with a new appreciation for the detail Epi put into this amp. Pros include a clean channel with massive amounts of headroom and a drive channel that can be played loud without causing solid-state ear fatigue (for my money, don't max out the drive; leave it low and use your favorite overdrive to get more gain out of it). Cons are no included footswitch (at least in my case) and no real control over the effects (tap tempo would put this over the top).

I actually A/Bed the drive channel against a vintage Fender Champ and managed to dial in a virtually identical sound between the two. Then I switched back to the clean channel... Versatile bliss.

For the money, the amp and 4x12 cabinet can't be beat. Let's hope reliability is as good as the value of this amp. Highly recommended for those on a budget or looking for something different.
