The semi-hollow design of the Epiphone Sheraton II Electric Guitar uses a solid center block and hollow "wings" to give it the fat, mellow tone of a jazz guitar and the sustain of a solidbody. It has an arched maple top, back, and rim; laminated maple neck; gold-plated hardware; multiple bound body, neck, peghead, and f-holes; and vine inlay on peghead with mother-of-pearl and abalone fingerboard inlays. Includes two humbucker pickups and separate tone and volume controls. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

This thing is amazing once the pickups have been switched out. It has great playability and the quality is superb. I would definitely replace if lost.

Epiphone Sheraton II Rocks!

Epiphone Sheraton II: This guitar was great right off the wall. I wasn't even shopping for a new guitar, but I picked it up, & ended up walking out of the store with it. I had custom pickups made for it by Sheptone & now it sounds just as good if not better than my other 2 guitars. (A Gibson Les Paul Standard & a Gibson BluesHawk.) I gig steady with this guitar & am using it as my main instrument to cut our band's debut CD. The quality, setup & finish on this guitar is top notch, as are the finishes on the others I've tried since buying mine. I am now looking into picking up the Emperor Regent & the EJ-200CE. Even though I swapped out the pickups, the originals did sound quite nice compared to most overwound Epi pickups. Mine measured in at 7.5k & 7.9K (Neck & bridge respectively) most others that i've measured are coming in between 10 & 12K which is really way too much IMHO. All in all, this guitar is top drawer. If you're thinking of getting one, do it. You won't be disappointed. Peace - J.

I have owned my Sheraton II for about a year and a half. I must say that I bought it used from the big chain store. They told me it was used, but I couldn't tell the difference as it looked new and still had the plastice on the pickguard and such. First the bad: Pickups are rather tinney as most epi pickups are. The tuners are also not the best they could be either. Other than that, this guitar is the most amazing value I have ever seen in my 30 yrs of playing guitar. I replaced the epi pickups with Gibson '57 Classic + pickups and was stunned by the difference. This has to be one of the most beautiful, well made and tricked out guitar I have ever seen off the rack. I have the antique sunburst and it is truly breathtaking. The finish is flawless and the inlays are truly works of art. The attention to detail I observed on this guitar ranks better than my Les Paul (original, not epi). It's a good thing Gibson owns Epiphone, because if not, they would be in trouble with this guitar. IT IS BIG! it isn't much thicker than my Les Paul, or even as heavy, but it is a very large guitar. Luckily I am big guy. The frets are large and comfortable and work very well for extreme bending and easy finger placement. My telecaster hollowbody hasn't left the case in a year and I will probably sell it because it sound so crappy after this total tone monster. The fullness of the sound is astounding, though I'm sure the upgraded pickups have alot to do with it. I'm a tone freak so many of you may not feel the need to upgrade the pickups as I did. You can't beat the quality for the price and I have recommended this guitar to friends (2) who have also bought them and are happy. You can't beat this guitar for blues, old rock and roll or even oasis and some of the new stuff. It just sounds and looks great.

A Classy Guitar With Big Tone

I have owned my Sheraton for 3 years now and I love it. I also own a Gibson GT LP and a Kramer Baretta and some other guitars. The stock pickups in the Sheraton are very good PAF style pups. However, I put a Gibson Classic 57 Plus in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and wow...what an improvement. This guitar likes to be played with 10's. 9's don't stay in tune and would require a nut adjustment. I had to totally intonate this guitar also. Once I had it set up...it is a fine instrument. I took the corny looking "E's" off of mine. These cheapen the look of the guitar. This guitar sounds good through everything, particularly my Marshall and Boogie amps. Plays like butter. Only downside is the weight...this is a heavy guitar.

Simply one of the easiest playing, nicest sounding, semi acoustics out there. Please believe me, the neck is great for all styles. Epiphone is really trying hard to put out new and innovative guitars. Someone at Epiphone is really on the ball. If the rest of there guitars are like the Sheraton 2 then Lord help the rest of competitors.I see wuite a few "Big Names" playing Epihones on Sound Stage and other Tv concerts.
