Heritage Cherry Silverburst, Back Heritage Cherry, Back Silverburst, Headstock Silverburst, Body Closeup Silverburst, Close Angle

The Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar is a Gibson-authorized version of their great '66 SG with a solid mahogany body and slim-taper set mahogany neck. Some subtle-yet-significant differences make this one special. Instead of the small, lower horn-only pickguard, it has the larger pickguard so there aren't any pickup mounting rings around the high-output Alnico Classic humbuckers (the '66 SG had P-90 pickups). Separate volume and tone controls for each of the pickups give you complete control of your sound. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and make string changing easier. The deep double-cutaway lets you reach all 22 frets with ease.

Well ive owned this guitar for 9 months and it is a great guitar. The pickups are very good for a guitar in this price range, the neck pup has alot of low end, "I like to have alot of bass on my bridge and when I first switched over to my neck it was just to much and I had to turn the bass down", but all that low tone is perfect for fat dirty blues sound. Not much to say about the bridge pup it's preety average but good. The action on it was set at a ridiculous hieght so I had to lower it alot but some players like it high. Lowering the action did give me some fret buzz but it's not bad and I can't even hear it through my amp, and it can be fixed with some minor adjustments. The only problem with my guitar was the bridge, it sucks! a couple of the saddles are bigger than the others "one in particular" and the strings are alot higher than the others, but I planed on getting a tonepros graph tech anyways so it's not that big of a deal to me and that was just my guitar probably not the case with many or any of the others. And of course it is neck heavy but sg's usaually are and it's not a problem while playing, "I rest my arm against the body when I play and that is more than enough to keep it in place". All in all it's a great guitar amazing tone and great, comfortable neck, can't beat it at this price.

this nice with allot of little things that could be much better. buzz, pickup mounting, knobs, pickguard mounting, these are all things that can be made better if there was better Q\C . but the one thing I can't get over is the bridge mounted on top of the pickguard, just how is this right, to change the pickups you have to get it off. with that said it sounds great plays great looks so sweet. and at 349.00 with a free hard case. it was a sweet deal

Drop Dead Gorgeous

This review is on the Heritage Cherry color of the '66 Epi SG and it is stunning, drop dead gorgeous even. This is an excellent value to start with then Musicians Friend sweetens the deal with free shipping and their excellent customer service. This guitar rocks and is as comfortable to play as my Gibson Les Paul DC with access to the upper frets a breeze. I looked "under the hood" at the electronics and the soldering and wiring is clean so I buttoned it back up feeling it's a pretty decent job for an import. The tone is very good after breaking in the humbuckers and they will stay in there, for a little while. The neck is super fast and the slim taper fits my old short fingers very well. It's a keeper for sure; get one while you can.

I got this way back in February in Heritage Cherry and I love the thing!! Great sounding especialy when driven. Also has a great clean sound through my Line 6. The only problem I've exprience with it though is my tone knob broke off but other than that minor defect its great! Get one
