The Epiphone Revolution Casino Electric Guitar without doubt showcases Epiphone at their highest level of quality. In 1966, during the recording of Revolver, John Lennon and George Harrison acquired sunburst Casinos. John was taken by his new guitar and made it his main axe from that point on, using several different versions over the ensuing years. In cooperation with Yoko Ono, Epiphone introduced 2 Limited Edition Lennon Casinos. The '65 Casino is a reproduction of the original guitar John purchased with its sunburst finish and stock hardware. In 1968, John had his Casino sanded down to bare wood and finished with a thin, dull coat of lacquer. He first used this "natural" Casino in The White Album sessions of '68. The John Lennon Revolution Casino is a reproduction of this stripped guitar as it remains today, featuring one coat of lacquer, gold Grover tuners, and the pickguard removed.

A combined total of 1,965 of these individually hand-numbered, historic instruments have been produced, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each goes to the BMI Foundation for the John Lennon Scholarship Fund, which supports music education. Limited lifetime warranty. Includes hardshell case.

I purchased the Epiphone Revolution Casino Electric Guitar in February 2007. It is well worth the price! I married it up with DR Pure Blues strings. They are a perfect match! I have gotten great results through my Peavey Ultra 410, but plugged it into a Marshall 2266C amp and the marriage of this combination was as close to Nirvana as I've experienced while playing. Just couldn't put it down! I highly recommend this guitar to anyone whether hobbyist or professional. My thanks goes out to Yoko Ono and Epiphone for making this guitar available.

JL Casino on the cheap

This Casino is great. I own the standard Casino - it used to be Turqoise, but after some gentle and careful sanding work on the neck and body, replacing the Kluson tuners with gold Grover tuners, and the pup switch plate (Rythm/Lead), my formerly Turqoise Casino looks just like the John Lennon model. The real JL Casino is much nicer, I'm sure, with better electronics and better quality wood. I'd rather have the real thing, but I already had the TQ and didn't have the funds to buy the real McCoy. With a set of 11mm or heavier strings, this guitar is the coolest! I don't recommend light strings on this guitar, as they don't stay in tune as well with this guitar's hardware configuration. John Lennon loved this guitar not only because it's awesome, but because he didn't have to carry his amplifier around with him to play.

Enjoy

Great Guitar

I just bought this guitar and love it. If you want the sound of a true hollow body with P-90s, this axe can't be beat. It's lighter than center block equiped hollow bodiy guitars. It sounds great through both tube and solid state amps (I run mine through a 1964 Gibson Falcon). It's clean sounding and the action, setup was perfect right out of the box. It's it easy to see why John Lennon loved it, Buy one and enjoy the tone! The workmanship is superb!!

Revolution Casino is as good as a vintgae

I bought the 1965 Lennon Casino first after years of not being able to find a vintage one in the condition I wanted. After I got it I was so blown away I went out and bought the Revolution. Of the 2 guitars the Revolution is the better sounding guitar because of the removal of the burst finish and just a think coat of nitro laquer. I also think it has a cooler vibe to it and it will be the most collectable of the 2 guitars in the future. Both however play and sound as good as any of the vintage ones I have played. Since all of this I have found and original 65 vintage Casino so I a/b them all the time and they are very very close.
