I've wanted a jumbo acoustic ever since I learned the J-200 is Pete Townshend's axe of choice. I've now learned why! The sounds is huge and deep. And I've read some of the reviews on this guitar that insist on complaining the top isn't solid....

IT IS! Read the hands-on review and look for yourself. Solid. Great for all acoustic music unless you want jangly. Then this is not for you. This is mellow and deep and a great buy and my number one acoustic now. It's huge! Pictures don't do the size justice, so be prepared for the sheer girth! Ebony finish looks great too.

I have the ej-200 and ej-200ce, and these are good value guitars. They look very good and play well after a pro steup and the sound good. But the lack of a solid top is a big mistake by EPI (I hope they will realize this someday) anyway without all the stylish appointments and a solid top there is not much of a reason to spend $249 on this particular guitar. The competition is fierce at this price and the buyer can do better sorry epiphone. But add a solid top and I will jump for Joy. PS the Masterbuilt guitars are really worth the extra $$. Not, Epi we are friends again.

This guitar is just like the EJ-200 without the bling - no fretboard inlays, no scrolling on the pickguard, and no moustache bridge. The guitar plays great, and sounds great. I was a little reluctant to try it because it doesn't have a solid top, but it sounds great to me; real nice bass, nice mids and highs. A great guitar for the money, highly recommended.
