Heritage Cherry Sunburst Arctic Blue Vintage Sunburst Worn Cherry Ebony

The original idea for the Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Studio now has a thicker body that matches its namesake, hot open-coil Alnico Classic humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany body with carved top. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

I got this guitar straight out of the box at a local store. EVERYTHING I buy at this store is in mint condition so don't blame them. The guitar is nice for alternative rock and post hardcore but NO MORE than that. Distortion doesn't always go so well on it, and after a while parts like the volume knob and tuner knobs started getting loose very quickly. The treble started malfunctioning as well. Its not worth the money just spend a little more money and buy a epiphone les paul standard because they are noticeably better in almost every aspect.

Great guitar for the money

This is an amazing guitar if you are on a tight budget. I bought the worn cherry about 2 years ago and it still screams. I'm very honored to own this guitar. Sounds great, looks sick (WAY BETTER LOOKING IN REAL LIFE) extremely comfortable, light and very quick. I play mostly Metal, Prog rock, deathcore styles of music and this guitar can scream if you have a decent amp. Sounds amazing for clean and rock/blues. The harmonics are very good if you are tuned higher then CGCFAD. This guitar loves to stay in tune, the "Grover" tuning keys are a dream.

The only cons I have for this guitar is that the G string likes to buz at the headstock, as of a few months ago. The pick ups are starting to sound a bit sloppy, but what do you expect for playing the crap out of it right? I plan on buying a Seymour Duncan Distortion Mayhem SH-6 Humbucker Pair from this site and install them. This guitar is great for investing better parts in, but there is really no need to.

The most damage I have done to the guitar is when we had an earthquake and the guitar fell from a stand onto a wooden floor face first. The only damage that happened was the black plastic thing on the toggle switch split in half, but i could care less about that.

The only thing that I do not like about this guitar is that people my age (18) underestimate the pristine quality this guitars company. Price does not matter, it's about how it sounds and the music you can make with it.

Great sound and quality, one minor fault

I have had this guitar for a little more than a year now and I love it. The sound it good, I like the finish, and the neck is fairly lean for a LP. Then only problem is it seems like the wood it's constructed of is a little soft. I have a few scratches on it from when it bumped against desks etc., but my biggest problem was when it cracked right at the nut, twice. Once, It slipped out of my hands when I was putting it into the case and fell onto a carpeted floor, and another time, while in the case it slipped onto the floor and cracked. If you are careful with it though, and buy a hard case for it, this guitar should serve you well.

Very happy with this Epiphone Les Paul Studio in worn cherry. Guitar is light (for an LP), fit and finish is better than one would expect for a guitar in this price range. Tone is great but different than a Standard LP with maple top and poly finish; the Studio has a little less snap and a bit more resonance. Overall, a great value.

Buzzer

I ordered an Epi LPS a few weeks ago. While 5 strings played nice, the A string was buzzing (all the way up to the 12th fret), with no easy way to fix. I asked for an exchange, which I just got, where now both low E and A are buzzing. Did I just get unlucky, or do you other guys just not care about buzzing low strings? WIthout the buzz, it would be a neat guitar for the money.
