I have been playing this guitar for about a month now and its not bad. It is a very sharp looking guitar. Looks like a high dollar one!!! It does sound a little cheap i dont know if it is the guitar or the amp or possibally a mixture. But for the money i knew i wasnt getting a top of the line guitar and i am very satisfied with it for no more than it cost. It is fun to play around on!

Fantastic Beginner/First Electric

I'm a drummer who has been playing guitar for about a year and a half now. After living with my two acoustics, and playing my teachers and friends electrics, I finally got this pack for my 16th birthday. I could not have been more impressed with what I received. The guitar plays very well and the pick ups are decent. I got mine in a sunburst color and it looks great. The amp is the best value pack type amp I've played. You can get a great variety of sounds out of it. It is best based around a bluesy rock kind of feel, but you can get a heavier punk, metal feel etc. The clean is decent too. But overall, the quality of the sound is great and the variety of options is higher then most amps in this price range. Some people have complained that this amp is crap and "cant get loud enough" These people are just looking for amps that they can blast to annoying distortion levels (i.e. line 6 amps) This is the perfect amp for kids who want to get started playing. The effects wont overly distract them yet will allow them to play with some variety. The only bad thing I can say about this is that the reverb isn't great. Kept at a low setting it doesn't make too much of a difference, but on a higher setting it doesnt sound good. This isn't too big of a deal, considering what else you are getting in the sound, and considering that most amps like this either dont have reverb or have reverb the same or worse as this one. And the cable that came with the pack died in about a day on me, so get a new one when you buy it. Overall, great guitar, great amp. Great first buy.

I love this guitar! The vintage sunburst is beautiful, the picture doesn't do it justice. They screwed up the order and instead of the amp for some reason sent a custom case instead, but since I really liked the case told them not to worry about it, got a Fender amp anyway. The tone is awesome and even more interesting with effects pedals and while its not as versitile as my Fender Strat its decent for the price and is fun to play. I mainly play acoustic and for the reviewers who say this guitar is a piece of crap, maybe it is to them, but it suits me fine. Oftentimes I will play the same song on my acoustic, then the Fender and then the Epi to get the different variations. I don't normally buy guitars on-line but for the price took a chance and didn't get a turkey.

This guitar is basically a peice of crap. It looks like a Les Paul, so it might look awesome. But you are sadly mistaken. The pickups aren't great at all. The amp is just like any other. I suggest an Ibanez or Laguna.

Guitar is great, amp is a different story...

The guitar is a great beginning guitar. I've had mine for about two years now, and I'm very satisfied. But the amp is a completely different story. I hate that thing. The sound that comes out of it is awful. It can get pretty loud, but the sound quality isn't even worth it. If I were you, I'd buy the guitar separately and buy a different practice amp such as a Crate or Line 6.

The cable, picks, and strap that came with this also were very disappointing, but I suppose that's to be expected since it's a starter pack.
