The Epiphone Prophecy GX Les Paul electric guitar boasts 2 Dirty Fingers humbucker pickups to produce incredible, aggressive, wide response and much more clarity and volume than a traditional humbucker. The Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup comes with a 4-conductor lead and is wax-potted to eliminate unwanted microphonic feedback. Coil-tapping options on both pickups mean you'll never run out of tone options.

Epiphone's Prophecy series electric guitars, including the Prophesy GX Les Paul come with a highly figured quilt maple top, pearl inlay knobs, strap locks, graphite nut, Grover tuners, a bound ebony fingerboard, unique blade inlay, and a deep, rich black cherry finish. The Les Paul guitar's mahogany set neck and 24-fret ebony fingerboard provide a playground two full octaves in length. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier.

Beauty in guitar form

I've been playing this amazing guitar for about 5 months now and its still playing like the day I got it. when it comes to the dirty fingers, they are the best overall pickups I have used on any guitar. the neck seems to just mold with your hand while moving effortlessly across the fretboard. the hardware on it is beautiful and the pictures DO NOT do this guitar justice. only complaint is keep an eye on the pickup screws. I had to replace one after I lost it from headbanging a little harder than usual. LOL Besides that, you cannot fid a better guitar for the price.

I must say that this guitar is absolutely amazing. I found it in the used section at guitar center. i was soo happy that my dad found it for me!

First off this guitar comes with Gibson's Dirty Finger pickups. I can pump up the distortion and the open chords are still clear enough to be identified, and the things are loud! Comes with push pull technology so i can play blues like a strat( but of course its not a strat so its not gonna sound the same), has 24 frets so a full octave, and mine came with grover tuners but idk if thats just because its used and the guy changed them, nice playability, and its beautiful.

Only problems I had was that a wire slipped in front of the AUX cable jack and i couldnt put in the cable(easily fixable), the volume knob came lose(also easily fixable), and it has only one volume and tone knobs. I prefer two.

but overall great guitar

Great Looking Axe, But Beware

I came across this model, the Black Cherry, and I completely fell in love with it. It was dazzling to the eyes and the senses. A week after I purchased it, I noticed some twang on some frets. It got annoying and I decided that either a fret was too high, or that the truss rod needed some tweaking. I took it into a well trusted shop, and when they went to adjust the truss this white powder came out from underneath the cover. None of the guitar experts there were able to fix the truss, and many are still baffled by its very touchy behaviour. If you are planning on buying this guitar, make sure its reliable, and make sure you can refund it once it becomes unusable, as mine did.

My wife got this baby for me for my birthday.I love this guitar. The sound is great and the action is just right for me. Though made in China, the craftsmanship on my guitar is flawless. I checked it out all over and there are no flaws anywhere. The pups sound great and have plenty of that Les Paul Crunch. If you want a guitar that sounds great and plays great this is it. No, it don't have that other company's name on the headstock, so you don't have to buy the name, but I would recommend this guitar to anyone.

All bad reviews of this guitar......

First off the person who stated that this was an Epiphone not a Gibson was exactly right! Those that are crying and moaning because it isn't need to look else where for guitars then. Also this wasn't made to be the typical Les Paul either so those of you who like to give this guitar crap for not being such need to start speaking from your mouths and not elsewhere. If you want a more traditional Les Paul then buy one.........don't give an awesome guitar a bad review because it wasn't what you were looking for.

With that being said this thing is SWEET. I took a point off because of the missing tone and volume pots, this is about the only part where I actually agree with the Les Paul snobs on here. But if you want something that all out rocks this will definately do just that. It's more than capable of cranking out some tasty metal, hard rock, classic rock, blues......you name it. And it DOES clean up quite nicely as well. The coil tapping is also a plus.

At first I also didn't like this guitar. I wanted the EX with the EMG's but wound up with this one instead. I'm not disappointed now! With some eq tweaking and some pumped up gain I got one helluva sound from this thing and it isn't going anywhere now!
