This Les Paul Prophecy Custom EX Electric Guitar deploys an EMG-81 humbucker in the bridge position for great attack and sustain and an EMG-85 humbucker at the neck for fat, great-sounding rhythm. Lavish features on the Prophecy EX Les Paul guitar include a highly figured quilt maple top, pearl inlay knobs, strap locks, graphite nut, Grover tuners, a bound ebony fingerboard, unique blade inlay, and a deep, rich midnight ebony finish. The mahogany set neck and 24-fret ebony fingerboard provide a playground two full octaves in length. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier.

I bought this guitar used form Musician's Friend. To be brutally honest, i was a little upset when the guitar arrived. There was a crack on the headstock tthat I noticed right away. Turns out it was merely cosmetic and was actually an easy fix. That outta the way, the figure of the mahogony was absolutely stunning. I love it! The active 81/85 EMG's are freakin sweet, they have almost perfect sound for the music that I play. there was a little problem with the high E string on the first fret, but it was easily filed down and smoothed over. The speed of the neck and action is a thing of beauty. I was able to set up the guitar myself. I love the fact that there is only one tone and one volume control. Simple is the way to go on this beast. to say I am impressed is a major understatement. Well Done!

I just got this guitar today. It will need a set up, like all other Gibson products I've ever owned, weather an expensive one or inexpensive. Gibson don't set up their guitars. I bought the Les Paul Epiphone case 517248, guess what it's to short for the 24 fret Custom Prophecy. I had to buy the Firebird Square case to get one long enough. Overall the finish was good and the only reason I gave it a 4.5 was because of the need for a set up. Pickups EMG's sound great. For the price you can't go wrong.

This guitar is basically just an ESP/LTD Eclipse rip off. You can buy the EC-1000 for about the same price and you don't have to have a guitar that has stupid bolt inlays and headstock logo. It sounds pretty good because of the active EMGs but does not feel nearly as good as the EC-1000.

This thing is a brute compared to my other LP's, aside from being slightly heavier than the others, I love the feel of it, and it packs a helluva punch(a brutal assault on the auditory senses). The playability and and tone are phenomenal, yes there are a few factory quirks, but those are easy to fix, its not a gibson, but missed out on this one, it's a must buy.

It was going to be this one, or an LTD Eclipse and I must say, I'm glad I chose this guitar. The guitar is not too heavy but heavy enough to carry out a lot of sustain and the EMGs sound amazingly clear, perfect for the type of music I play. When it came in, it played like crap I payed $28 for a set up and new set of strings and plays like a dream!!!
