I bought this guitar used at my local music shop last week along with a Boss ME 50 multi effect pedal and I have to tell you I am still blown away. This thing is killer, I have only been playing for 4-5 years but I am a tone seeker. Ran through my all tube amp (B52 AT 112 65) I got that tone I have been looking for. I own a Jackson, Schecter, and a B.C. Rich which are all good guitars but this Epiphone smokes them. If you have been looking for "that tone" get this guitar and run it through a good amp and you will see what I mean. If I ever buy another guitar it will be entirely for looks because I really do not see how it can get better than this. WOW!!!

Amazing Value for the money

I own several high end guitars such as Martin, Gibson etc. This Epi Les Paul looks and plays comparable to any of my other guitars. I compared it directly to the Gibson version when I purchased it...and I could not discern any significant difference. I would recommend that this guitar be initially set up by a good luthier. Once I had this done, this Epi Les Paul is a wonderful sounding and great playing guitar. The sustain seems to go on forever. I play it probably the most often of all of my (ten or so) guitars. I feel it's a great value for the money.

OK so it doesn't have Gibson on the head stock..Get over it. It only cost a fraction of the Gibson model but looks, [lays and sounds quite up to pare. Yeah the Gibsone pickups are just a little better on the harmonics but not that much better. Anyway if you insist you can put Gibson pickups in this guitar and still save. I for one happen to like the tone of the Epiphone stock pickups so I wouldn't change a thing. I think this is the top of the Epiphone Les Paul line and IMO is a lot better than Gibsons low and middle lines that cost several times as much. This is no beginners model, it will hold it's own with any other Les Paul on the market. Fit and finish look great, feel great, and sounds great. ure Les Paul flavor. Try them both out at a music store and then you will probably buy this one, and you will have made a great choice, not to take anything away from Gibson but they are priced way to high for the working guy.

Good basis

I've owned this guitar for 3 years now. It's absolutely beautiful, mine is wine red, which I'm not sure they offer anymore. Pictures don't do this justice, it's stunning. However, after about a year, my bridge pickup went out, & I noticed my B & high E have fretted out on the 19th fret. There are some quality concerns but nothing that isn't a simple fix for the tech. I am a bit upset about having to have new pots put in and having to pay to have it fixed when it came from the shop this way, I unfortunately didn't notice in time. The pickups, sound great, they're similar to 57's but like I mentioned, my bridge went out so that hurts my rating. All in all this is a beautiful guitar, with great sound, just a few things I wish hadn't happened to it. If your looking for a LP, this is a great deal, just thoroughly look it over when you get it, or before you buy. I'd buy it again in a second, but would run it through the paces first.
