Best Les Paul for the buck...

I have being reading reviews complaining about the weight of the Les Paul. Please understand the heavier wood body is what helps resonate the legendary sounds that rock and roll built its foundations on from Gary Moore to Jimmy Page. If your main concern is having a "lighter" guitar and you feel "heavier" will hinder your performance, a Les Paul option probably ought to be reconsidered. I own 4 Gibson Les Paul's, to include the Epiphone Black Beauty 3. It is a great guitar for the buck. It also looks fantastic on stage. I am not a fan of the pickups though. I think they sounded a little muddy. I changed the neck and the bridge to Seymour Duncans (Distortion and Jazz Master) and leaving the middle pickup stock. It is now extreamly versatle, musically. After the conversion, it is still only a fraction of what you would pay for a Gibson Les Paul right off the line. I also don't believe there are too many guitars that compare in looks to the Black Beauty 3...it more than lives up to its name.

I've had an Epi Black Beauty for about 2 years now.

It's a solid guitar that plays really nice, but my biggest complaint is that about 9 months after I bought the guitar the neck pickup went out and I had to change that.

I would recommend this guitar to someone looking for a good solid body in the price range, but be sure to get some strap locks because this thing is heavy

I have this guitar for 6 months, it is great guitar from sounds to features except the details and quality not as great as other Epiphone guitars that i have, please note that my guitar are manufactured from China, my other Epiphone Ultra II is made in Korea which is fantastic about quality compared to this one. Still, for this price and you get this awesome guitar then you definitely can't go wrong about it. Bottom line is if you lucky to have this guitar made in Korea...then you are the KING. Good luck.

Even though I am a bass player this guitar is well worth the price, it sounds amazing through a marshall amp, our guitar player got an amazing deal with this guitar and i played it a few times, we had no problems with it.

Incredible value. I used to set up guitars in a music store and this thing came perfect, flawless, and pristine in every way. YOU may want to change the strings; but this much guitar at this price should be a bigger success than it is.
