Solo your way into the stratosphere! This rock 'n' roller is based on Gibson's Flying V. It looked modernistic in 1958 and it still does, but now it's a classic. Body is made of sustain-enhancing korina wood, naturally finished. The 24-3/4" scale neck is maple with rosewood fingerboard. Electronics provided by 2 Alnico Classic humbuckers controlled by 3-way switching, one tone and 2 volume knobs. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and string changing easier.

the start of a great guitar

I bought this guitar in person so I knew it was set up good when I got it, and it has DEFINITELY held the same setup since day 1. The problem with the guy before was that he obviously didn't leave it in the shop long enough for it to settle in. Most guitars could use a fret level and setup anyways. True the hardware, pickups, and electronics aren't great but neither are the ones in the ibanez and jacksons mentioned in a previous post and the wood is WAY higher quality. I put Duncan P-rails with triple shot rings and it does everything I need it to, but for metal some good high output pickups would sound better than most ibanez, jackson, or even lower end gibsons.

This thing gets alot of grief from people, and I have no idea why. Every show i've played with it people compliment it. Firstly let's start with visuals it's got a stripped down natural finish with gold hardware that seems to blend right into the wood nicely not too flashy with paint but sound is what counts. the korina wood adds more mids then mahogany which make the tone fatter and fuller. all i did to mine was threw some strap locks on it so it didnt fall with me jumping all over and it's a dream this will be the last guitar i ever buy it kicks butt and takes names!

Great look, maybe I just got a bad one

I love the look of this guitar, a golden shimmering flying V, but maybe I just got one that was hastily made. I have two major qualms with it: The hole for strap button by the neck was too large, so I had to wrap wire around the screw to fit it in tightly. Another one was that the input jack was loose, to the point of it actually falling out when unplugged TWO MINUTES RIGHT BEFORE A SHOW. But I digress. It has a good fat and crunchy tone and is definitely worth the price, but be prepared to have to make a few adjustments.

This guitar buzzes like a bee...

I gave this guitar such a low score because I've had its action and intonation adjusted so many times and it refuses to hold the shop set ups. It buzzes like crazy on some of the frets. I had a Squier before this guitar and it held its action and intonation better than this thing. The bridge pickup on this thing is weak and the input jack is a piece of junk. Also, they couldn't have put the strap stud in a worse place. However, I will give this guitar a couple things. It has a good sustain for the price and its incredibly fun to play. I love to play this guitar. The fretboard is pretty good too. I would recommend saving your money for a real V. I play a lot of classic rock and I love the Gibson Tone. If you're into Metal and you want this guitar, you should look elsewhere. You should by an Ibanez or a Jackson for the same price. You'll get a better quality guitar for the money you spend.

I can't imagine anyone slagging this guitar because it doesn't have a "Gibson" logo on the headstock. The only thing I have changed about mine have been the strings. I am looking around my "guitar room", and I love everyone of the guitars hanging there. However, 9 times out of ten,if I need "that Gibson sound" I'll pick the Epiphone V over my "Real Gibson" Les Pauls or SG.
