This guitar is great for playing anything from johnny cash to metallica to social distortion. It is plenty loud without the amp, and just look at the thing. It's one of the sweetest lookin' guitars i've ever seen.

The Epiphone Flamekat is a good guitar from a good brand. It's cool because it's got flames and dice doesn't everything cool have flames and dice? and it's a good quality guitar. However, it does leave a little to be desired. it's built pretty well but it doesn't have a string lock so it goes out of tune if you use the tremolo too much.

I've had this guitar for about 2.5 years and it has never let me down. It has a great sound and tone. You can get the right sound for just about any kind of music. Its a workhorse of a guitar. Once at our show I did that thing where you thro your guitar over your shoulder and let it fly around you but my lock nuts were not locked on properly and the guitar went flying. it was a bit chipped but keeped working great. The only thing you should know about the guitar before you buy it is as other reviews have mentioned its a little longer to change the strings on it that your average guitar. Also when you change the stings they tend to go out of tune often. But when you put them on if you use the vibratone to strech then tune and repeat till they stay tuned it solves the problem. So its not that bad if you know how to deal with it. other than that this an excellent guitar for someone looking to upgrade on thier first guitar but not spend $$$ on a Gibson. Im sure it will keep playing this guitar even after I get other more expensive guitars. What I might do is replace the vibratone with a strait bridge due to the fact I never use it. That would eliminated the tuning issue. If youe thinking about getting it, go for it, you won't regret it.

I have had this guitar for more than two years. The pickups are great, especially for pinched harmonics. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone at any level of play. It looks awesome and plays even better.

This is a great guitar. i got it for christmas today and it is a joy to have! the neck is a tad thick, and it is a pain to change strings, but if you want a great looking guitar for a good price, this is the guitar to get. it has a great sound and is very fun to play!
