This is an Epiphone 335 1964 Dot Elitist. This instument is of exceptional quality. This is one of the finest guitars I have ever owned. I have and still do own Strats and Les Pauls but this little girl is something to behold. From the build to the action to the quality of all parts of this guitar. It is second to none. I feel so lucky to have stumbled onto this fine instrument. I am very proud to own this Epiphone. A first class guitar. If someone wanted to trade it for a Gibson, I would tell them to take a hike.

I recently purchased a Gibson Memphis es335, took it out of the case, played it for ten minutes, put it back in the case and shipped it back. Enough said. The next day, I ordered an Epiphone Elitist 1963 es335 Dot. This is the guitar I should have ordered to begin with. It is BEAUTIFULLY crafted and sounds alive-not asleep. There are no buzzes, and there is no trash inside from construction, unlike some others I've owned briefly. The Elitist line is TRULY impressive. The Dot is my third Epi Elitist.

This guitar is from Epiphone's "Custom Shop". It's crafted in Japan. In my experience some of the greatest guitars and basses I've ever played were crafted in Japan. The Fender "Geddy Lee" bass, and the Sadowsky MV4 come to mind.

From the moment I opened the case, this guitar was perfect in every way. It has the quality of an instrument at least twice the price. The USA made hardware, pickups, and grover tuners make it date correct for a 1963 ES-335 reissue, and also make it a fantastic guitar. I love this guitar - the action, fit and finish are perfect. It plays like a dream. I've tried the regular Epiphone dot series and I found that instrument to fall way short of being a professional grade guitar, but the Elitist holds its own with anything out there. I wouldn't even look any further for a 335 type guitar since this is such a fine instrument. Great hard shell case as well. No regrets whatsoever.

I was happy when I opened the case and saw how great the natural maple finish looked. I wasn't happy when I picked it up and found the pickguard flopping around because the glue-joint on support block had came loose. I reglued it with epoxy so no big deal. I was happy when I played it for the first time and heard how great it sounded until I noticed buzzing on the A and D strings at all fret positions. I drove 2 hours to an authorized Gibson SC. After he set the relief as high as I could still play the buzzing was still there and after closer exam he noticed the neck looked warped. I am now very unhappy because I sent the guitar back to Gibson and tracked it recieved at Gibson on 14 Nov. and today is the 26th with no word from them at all. I just called and discovered the guitar hasn't even been looked at yet. I am venting a little now. Bottom line, I guess that's the chance you take when buying guitars online. The guy that worked on mine has been around guitars for 40+ years and said he would never think about buying a guitar he couldn't play first. Just a thought, I guess I just have bad luck after reading all the other great reviews.

I enjoy playing and collecting many different guitars, and have purchased a dozen instruments over the past three years. Not only is this my favorite guitar to play, it is one of my least expensive instruments. You have to get your hands on this thing and feel the quality. It’s extremely easy to play, came set up perfectly, and great sounding. This guitar will make you smile "ear to ear". One of the best guitars I have ever played, AT ANY PRICE!!!
