It's an average 12 string, however...

...it's still a pretty good deal for the money.

The action is a little high, more so than your regular 12s. Lots of buzzing around the 13th/12th fret.

I've played for over 40 years and played professionally for 10 of those. I've owned many 12s from Rickenbackers to Gretschs to Gibsons, and in spite of that I was a bit disappointed with the DR212 out of the box. The fret were sharp and the guitar itself felt very cumbersome all around. I replaced the nut and bridge to alleviate some of the action issues and replaced the tuners.

Overall, it plays well now. Still, if you're not technically guitar-savvy and can fix any problems, then you're not going to enjoy this guitar to the fullest. Still, it's a good deal for just 170 bucks (I've bought some for hundreds more that aren't as durable as this one.) It's a good guitar, but I recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting an Ibanez or a Yamaha.

I bought this guitar almost a year ago.It plays great now but at first I have an issue with the low E string buzzing constantly. Not just on one fret but all of them.It was worse closer to the nut so I raised the string a little with some glue and it fixed it.Not the proper way to do it but it works. It does fall out of tune after a day or two if you don't play it but I found that the more I play it the longer it stays in tune. Not a bad deal for a first time 12 string guitar.

I bought this back a couple years ago, and have played only a handful of times. Straight after unboxing it i realized that almost all the strings buzz around the 12th fret. It also does not stay in tune for more than a day or two, and with 12 strings to tune, it becomes a real pain. If i were to get something else, I'd probably go with yamaha for the price.

I purchased both the PR-150 and the DR-212. There nice guitars and sound good even with the strings that come on them, but do change them you will like the sound better. You can't go wrong with either of these guitars.

Bang for the buck bargain

Bought this guitar a few weeks ago. Upon arrival, the fret ends where terrible. Very sharp, and the action was little high for my liking. So after a removal of the strings, a little cleanup work on the fret ends, and a little file work on the saddle, and restrung with new strings, the guitar has been a real surprise. Nice round tone. Stays in tune (even with the budget tunning machines) and plays great. I didn't expect much due to the price, but after the setup work, this has turned out to be a great guitar. Much recommended for a great bang for the buck guitar.
