Antique Natural Headstock Antique Natural, Body Closeup

Epiphone's AJ-200SR acoustic guitar not only looks like a "bell", but it rings like one as well. With a slightly smaller, rounded upper bout, tighter waist and larger lower bout, the AJ guitar provides shimmering treble and more powerful bass with cleaner mid-range than ordinary dreadnought acoustics. Add to that a solid Spruce top for pure acoustic tone that only gets better with age and rosewood back and side for added warmth and you've got a premium acoustic guitar for beginners to professionals. Other features include quality Grover™ tuners for tuning stability and accuracy, a comfortable, SlimTaper™ mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and premium gold hardware for that dressed up look. And you can rest assured that with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime warranty and 24/7 customer service, your new Epiphone guitar will provide a lifetime of enjoyment.

Epiphone AJ200SR Sunburst Finish Model

I agree with all prior on the value. It's the best, I've seen in this price range, or, actually at least 2-3x's more in cost. The downside was, since folks can try and return, I got one more than tried... on that one the pick guard was heavily pealing up. I might have kept it for it's tone, since probably plaid a bit and loosened up but the Truss Rod appeared to be stripped, so the Hex could not adjust the forward bow so, and the guy who returned it B4 me, just threw all in the box, wrench and all so had some scratches it should not have. The replacement, still had a slight peeling of the pick guard that won't stick, but did not appear to be prior shipped. It did not have the brightness and volumn of the first, figures, right?! But, am hoping it will loosen up. Still, the over tone, hi, lo, mid's are clearer and louder on this model than many others I've plaid. The body is slightly deeper, which I think affects this positively and per the desc. the shoulder shape is affecting the tone. I was tempted to exchange again, and hope for a perfect one, but figured there's always somthing. I think if you can get one, not prior shipped you're gonna get a guitar still worth at least double the price. I'd love to read more comparisons to the Gibson J45 from a trained ear but can't find any. So, bottom line with the Grovers, installed neck strap button, burst finish, rose wood body though laminated, NOT the top which is solid... it set up to 5/64's at the 12 Fret and Nut action almost to Zero w/o buzz.... EXCELLENT GUITAR.

Good Budget Guitar

I'd been looking for a "back porch" guitar - one that I wouldn't have to worry about too much. I've currently got a Martin SPD-16R, and have had Guilds, Taylors, and other Martins in the past, so I have an idea of what constitutes quality tone and construction. I tried out a bunch of different $200+(-) over the past 6 months or so. I ran across the Epiphone AJ200SR on the Musicians Friend site, and read the reviews. I like the sunburst, Gibson Advanced Jumbo look. The guitar is well made and does not have that 'dipped in plastic' type of finish that many do. I happen to get a scrath and dent model. The only issue I could find was that the pickguard was lifting off at one corner, so I removed it entirely (a good look, I think). The setup needed tweaking, but what guitar's doesn't? The sound is pretty decent - I'd say good, and better than many guitars I played. I don't particularly care for the large Epiphone headstock, but.... everything else about this guitar makes it well worth the price.

Great Buy!

I purchased this guitar with doubts, but when I received the guitar it was in great shape! The neck was streamline and everything else was in perfect condition. The guitar sounds great. The neck feels smooth, and the natural finish looks excellent! I would highly recommend this buy to guitar players that are in the beginner to advanced stage. I have played many guitars over the 15 years that I have been playing and this guitar is on the top 20 list. The price and attention to detail is amazing! Epiphone needs more credit. They are known to be the cheaper gibson but they do a great job keeping up with the top of the line models.

New Gwee Picker

Bought from Musicians Friend two weeks ago, and am totally satisfied. While a beginner on guitar, my pro friends tell me the instrument is very playable with a good, straight neck. No string buzz, Great tone. Put extra light Elixer strings on it to help my virgin fingers build up callouses. Sound will improve with age & heavier strings. Item arrived quickly, no problems, is beautifully made. It may not be a Martin but it's d_mned close. And the Grover tuners are SMOOTH!!!!

VERY NICE J-45 COPY

It's hard to believe that you can buy something this nice for so little money. These are serious professional level instruments and with a pro set-up can be used to perform with or to record with. I spent about an hour to fine tune the action on mine and couldn't put it down. Looks pretty close to a real J-45 in the burst finish and although it's not a Gibson, it's a serious player and will improve with age with the solid top. Thinking about buying another one in the natural because of the great deal on a very nice guitar. I own a real Gibson J-45 and think the world of it but this one is good enough that I can use it to pratice on and save some wear and tear on my Gibson without getting frustrated with something subpar. The pickguard is pretty cheezy and thin but easily replaced if your picky like me. Buy one of these before they're gone!
