The Epiphone AJ-100CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar brings the look and sound of the Advanced Jumbo to everyone. Guitar comes with standard AJ features such as a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard. The AJ-100CE includes a cutaway body style and the Nanoflex pickup for electric amplification.

NanoFlex pickup
The term "Nanoflex" refers to its ultra thin (nano-like) profile and its flexibility that allows it to conform to any surface shape. This assures complete guitar-to-pickup-to-saddle contact. Unlike other undersaddle pickups, the Nanoflex design utilizes 7 highly-sensitive and ultraresponsive layers of sensor material to not only sense the vibrations of the strings but the vibrations of the guitar body as well. The Nanoflex is the first pickup to incorporate active amplification directly at the pickup. As a result, the signal does not pass through even a single millimeter of the wire and therefore, the signal quality is uncompromised.

Epiphone AJ-100CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar Features:

  • Mahogany body
  • Select spruce top
  • Set mahogany neck
  • Nanoflex pickup under the saddle and endpin jack
  • Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay
  • Chrome hardware
  • 25.5" scale
  • 1.68" nut width

When Properly Set-Up...

I've had this guitar for almost three years. However, I must admit that when I first got it I had to re-string it with Ernie Ball Earthwoods because the factory strings were awful & hated the sound. After just two months I wound up taking it to a guitar shop because all between the tenth & fourteenth frets were dead & Epiphone would not cover it because it was "not a manufacturer defect". Well, it was a manufacturer's defect. The biggest problem was the bridge was not assembled properly at the factory & was collapsing. So the shop re-did it, re-strung it with Ernie Ball 2221 Electric Guitar Strings, replaced the plastic bridge pins with Abalone-Topped Brass Pins & gave me a Kyser Sound Hole Humidifier to boot. The final outcome? The best Acoustic-Electric Guitar I've ever played in my life. A close friend/30+ year guitarist with a $2400 Taylor always tells me time & again that he cannot get over just how beautiful my Epi sounds, either plugged or un-plugged, & plays it at every opportunity. So, there you have it. This now wonderful guitar is going nowhere, period.

This guitar is decent for someone on a budget or a first timer. For me, having 3 other guitars I find that you can't really get a good acoustic/electric in this price range. The action is too high, the neck feels cheap and the finish is no better than comparable guitars. To get a decent acoustic, upgrade to a masterbilt.

I just got it today, this guitar is so cool, little bit high tension but not so high. The sound is good for both acustic and electric, I play with my Pignose 7-100R portable amp and it's sound so blue. The guitar's finish is excellent. One of the best guitar you can get for the prize, just no tuner on board is accepable.

I received this guitar as a christmas gift and was I surprised at the quality. Right out of the box the action was great, just right for me. The fit and finish is excellent, this is a beautiful instrument, the tones are very warm for such a inexpensive guitar. This is a great buy for anyone on a tight budget, plus you have the great epiphone name. Buy and enjoy.

This guitar is beautiful, way better-looking than the picture. The neck is very comfortable for me, who is used to playing an epiphone electric. I got this for Christmas yesterday, and even though i knew I was going to get, I was still stunned by how great ity was. The tone is awesome. The strings it comes with go out of tune a lot it seems. Umm, when plugged in it still sounds amazing, the cable it came with had a really fuzzy sound so I just used a different cable. I guess that's it.
