My AJ-1 Setup

I had to loosen the truss rod using the truss rod adjustment wrench that came with the guitar as well as the saetup instrucs. I also had one hi fret in the hi-E string... so i filed that one frert with a jeweler's file. Afeter filing that one fret ALL notes change now.

I put new Martin Light strings on it and it plays pretty nice now. Happy with it.

I wanted an inexpensive guitar for hacking away from home. This seemed like the perfect axe for that. Little did I know that with some nice strings (Elixir Light Nanowebs) this thing would sound so good! I am completely blown away by the sound and solid tones. It seems to ring for days. If you're looking for a great starter or intermediate guitar, you cannot go wrong with this baby!

I have had this guitar since spring 2004. After about 3 years and a lot of playing, I replaced the tuners, which made the whole instrument seem better (I should have replaced those way sooner). I then replaced the pickguard, and then installed a pickup. I have had great results with this guitar. After all these years, the tone has really warmed up, and strung with light guage strings, this baby plays/sounds like a dream! And the body actually has good x-bracing, kerfing and real binding, which seem to be rare for a guitar in this price range. I have played tons of gigs with it and it really behaves like a $500 guitar! Great for beginners who want a decent guitar that they can upgrade over time, as their playing ability increases!

Bought this guitar in Sept.09.Was a little cautious because of the price. After changing the strings to extra lights I was very pleased with the action and sound. The only thing that I can see that could be changed is putting Grover machine heads on it. Good product for the money.

I purchased this guitar just to have something to mess with on my lunch break at work or to take on vacation. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the guitar actually played. For the low price you get a nice guitar that has low action and sounds good. I did change the strings to D'Addario extra light. I would suggest to change the strings to your preference when you get the guitar. Overall I am pleased with the quality and value of the guitar. This is definitely a good value on a second or starter guitar. I believe I am now an Epiphone fan.
