Killer Guitar. Could be better than Gibson

This a great guitar. Was skeptical at first but then got the axe. It rocks my original 1982 JCM 800 2205. Gold harware is a bit cheezy but the sound and the rest of the guitar is great. You would really have to do a lot to convice me that an additional expenditure of the money for the "real Gibson" is in order. I own 5 70' Les Pauls, Specials, A deluxe and approximately 30 other guitars. THis is one of the best. Completely stock. The only thing i would consider is a good pair of strap locks and locking tuners.

I have wanted a v for a long time and when it finally got here I was very excited. It exceeded my expectations. The tone is unbelievable. Action was perfect right out of the box. like two saddles were a little off on the tune o matic bridge but thats easy. The sustain on this baby is really incredible. I had a little bleed over from the other pickup when the volume is all the way down but it doesn't really affect anything and that should fix really easy. sounds great distorted for rock and METAL, but it does get nice clean tones too.

Grooming

As with all guitars that I have purchased, this one needed some tweaking. I took off the strings, pulled the pickguard, used aluminum tape to sheild the control section of the pickguard. I noticed a malfunction when I first played it that when the volume was all the way down I had some bleed over from the other pickup. I checked the wiring on a Gibson Les Paul and then changed the pickup wiring on the volume pots to match the Les Paul. I put the guitar back together with new strings and adjusted the bridge. I have read a lot of negative comments about Epi stock pickups but I'm keeping these. This guitar plays with very little effort, the tone is smooth and creamy, excellent harmonics, and cuts through great. The controls work perfectly after rewiring. I like the 58 model over the 67 model because of easier accessability to upper frets. GREAT BUY!

Plays like butter, and is perfect for bass players that are planning to switch over because of the guitars heavy neck. Also, it is very light at the base.
