The Epiphone 1958 Explorer Electric Guitar is based on the '58 Gibson design that ushered in the space age! The 1958 Explorer features a 24-3/4"-scale maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Two Alnico Classic humbuckers give it its rock 'n' roll voice, with one tone and two volume knobs and a three-way switch for shifting from rhythm to high-altitude leads. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

I had read the reviews on epi explorer for quite some time. I was considering a LP special GT but I was unable to find one I could test drive. I found my explorer at a Best Buy with a significant price slash compared to market. It is a Korean made (Unsung). So far, I am thrilled with its performace. Gold finish on the tailpiece is going out fast, but I kind of expected that from what I read on reviews. Lots of sustain and resonance using overdirve or distortion. Stays in tune and the neck is quite firm and fast. Not as heavy as I expected. It seems it wil be a guitar I'll trick later when I get bored with its sound. I recommend this axe to anyone.

this guitar has a nice shape to it that is stylish and unique, and has a thin neck which makes it easier to play, but, the only thing i dont like about it is that it is pretty heavy so it can be a bit tiring. overall its a great guitar and if i were you i would also buy some gold strap locks to go with you sweet new guitar

this is a sweet guitar, have played it hundreds of times in the store and i love the the thing. plays fast, stays in tune like a dream, great tone from that heavy body. the only thing that keeps me from buying it is my own pockets, empty, and that i wished it would come in different colors, I really want a white explorer but dont want the price for the gibson.

I bought this guitar Last summer and I have not had a problem with it yet. It is a very nice sounding guitar for any kind of music. Distortion works well with it and it has a very good clean sound as well. Stays in tune really good with the Grover tuners and the Humbuckers sound amazing. If you are looking for a nice looking, great sounding guitar for a good price. I recommend this one!
