It came down to the Diezel VH4 or the Engl SE 670. Though this thing is loaded with features like cable impedence tester, MIDI switchable, ohms adjustable speaker outputs and no-load safety cutoff just to name a few - it would be nice to have a seperate bass and mid for each channel like the VH4 so I didn't give it a perfect score on features. Clean and crunch share the same bass/mid and lead I and lead II share the same bass/mid. You will need a MIDI pedal for this otherwise don't bother. The noise gate could have been left out because it doesn't do so great at high gain, high volume. However, I prefer the sound and "feel" of the Engl to the VH4. It absolutely "SCREAMS" - turn up the gain and sound off a note and it's like lighting magnesium chips on fire - endless, liquid sustain and lush harmonics effortlessly. The cleans are awesome with depth and "shimmer". Add some reverb and you can get those great vintage surf guitar sounds. Did I mention the reverb on the SE is great? The crunch is punchy and well rounded, also with great harmonic feedback. The lead channels will give you super gain with plenty of bite to cut through the mix. This amp sounds incredible! It looks mean too! A beautifully crafted machine which will continue to reveal more and more as you own it and begin to tweak the many different tone shaping features.

I just got this head and it is in a word SICK! The very finest head I have ever played! I've have owned them all, Meas Boogies, Marshall's, VHT, Soldano, Bogner, Line 6, ect... and this head is a cut above the rest. Just plug in and play! You have four channels, midi switching, reverb. Any basic distortion sound you could possibly need at the push of a midi button. Just take it from me! Buy this BEAST!!!@
