Before digital OD, Nano Muff is mediocre fuzz. After OD, look out. EH prides itself on just on the edge out of control dynamics and this pedal does so in spades. It turns my OD into Fuzz. The sound takes a while to appreciate. Virtually, it makes your amp sound liike the speaker was stabbed with a pencil, but the harmonics produced makes your speaker sound vintage quality. If you like OD and cascading with 2 sets, I suggest this pedal. You get the sound that personifies the 70s.

There needs to be an update on this nano muff pedal. There are no issues with using a power plug with other FX, especially boss. I mixed and matched pedals on one daisy chain. No issues at all. Worked perfect. The pedal on it's own is not anything special. However add a LPB-1 (linear power booster) and it really comes alive. You can check out a video I uploaded on UTube. Not the best pedal just real simple one volume control very cheap sound yet good, great for cheap beginner's, but I don't even use this as a booster!!!I use a Bad Monkey instead with a Big Muff and other stuff like Boss', only good for cheap beginners.Very weak.

I think this pedal gets unfair reviews--why are people expecting so much from a ONE KNOB pedal?? What you get through is a great vintage tone--it's one of Electro-Harmonix's first two circuit designs. It's a fairly dark overdrive that borders on fuzz but has way more clarity than a fuzz pedal. Also the lighter you pick, the cleaner things get--this pedal can get very clean. Also, back your volume off and get major clean up. So it's a pretty articulate sound that reflects your guitar's tone more that most tightly clipped overdrives or distortions. I like it, I just don't expect a 1-knob pedal to do it all. If you know how to vary you picking intensity and adjust your volume knob for cleaning up, it's actually decently versatile. It's also got great classic/vintage tone at a very low price. Note--I use an LPB-1 after my Muff Overdrive. It expands and fattens things up in a natural (as in, not super clipped) way. With the Muff followed by the LPB-1, I get some great vintage-y overdrive sounds that are more dynamic and don't sound super clipped and unnatural.

I purchased the nano muff about two months ago. For two months I tried to make it sound good. Finally I found a combination that works for me. I put the nano muff behind a ts-808 and then a lpb-1. Before I did this the muff sounded really terrible. Now it sounds like I thought it should
